Mighty Hiker,
I hope to go to Squamish -- am trying to talk my son into joining me, but he has a titanium rod in his tibia, from knee to ankle, after a crash ski racing, and is reluctant to climb with said rod in his leg .....

At the Perry Mansfield climbing school in Steamboat Springs, Levis and Carhartt were the norm for casual alpine climbing. Clockwise, Jim Whiteman (yellow jacket) Hoxie Smith, John Rutherford, Pete Nichols atop Kagevah Peak (FA?), Wind Rivers, 1971. Dragonhead in background.

Phil, I'd only been climbing about a month when that picture was taken. I think I had a plastic Forrest moac placed at the top of the crack w/o a runner, biner clipped right into the wire loop, sketch.
Here's another couple of photos from that outing.
