Some American fundamentalist preachers who claim to be christianists cheered what happened on 11/9. (Maybe Dick Cheney did too, in private - it gave him free rein for his agenda.) Sure, some elements in Arab countries also cheered, but many were horrified by what happened. Generalizations about these things are risky, especially when it comes to easily-manipulated urban mobs.

Yes, many different people with anti-American sentiments celebrated on that day including Israelis. I witnessed Latinos on my street doing it and talked to them about it. We were specifically talking about New Jersey Arabs in the posts above. Arafat threatened to shoot AP reporters who were trying to film the celebrations over there. Why is this so hard to grasp?

What I read in the NYT is more than likely an accurate depiction of the facts of the case. My personal beliefs are my business. Pretty sure there were some other 'Murkin fundamentalist christianist type preachers who echoed the same sentiment. Plenty of f*#ked up people in the world, funny how many of them are fundamentalist religious folks of one stripe or another. Funny odd, not funny haha.
