With the fanfaronade of a 7th grader who just kissed his first girl, Fattrad returned from the Bay Area Conservative Leadership Council meeting eager to post on Supertopo about the soon-to-be-disgraced politician that he had shaken hands with and chosen to back for public office as The Next Big Hope.

Amidst all the chaos and unrest what I really wondered was whatever happened to the gentle mansuetude of Hester and Biff? And what had happened to those whacky kids, anyway?

Having given up the nomadic life of a bohemian climber and settled into a regular career to support his young child and wife, he found it difficult to set up a routine that allowed to avoid obtaining a certain, shall we say...avoirdupois.

After climbing last night, it was clear that the pizza nights would have to subside, this after lugging my over-avoirdupois ass up three seizure-inducing slabs.

Since no equipment or climbing techniques existed for overcoming a wall as sheer, sustained and long as El Capitan ensured that only one as untrammelled as Warren Harding would dream up the methods by wish it could be accomplished.

Some people don't like to climb with me because after successfully pulling through a hard route I let fly with a harsh paroxysm of jubilant energy. It can be annoying to others. Sorry.

Naming his camming devices 'Friends' Ray started an anthropomorphism in gear nameing that was followed by Amigos, and Droogs, among others, maybe even aliens considering some of the people who actually climb.

Every time I put the key in the ignition, I feel as if it's the penultimate crank of the starter.

Until about 3 o'clock yesterday i felt the same way about my four tires that had steel belts sticking out of each one. But now, my lust for wheel security and roadtrip peice of mind is satiated for the next 60,000 miles.

Who among us in the forum has not had a Robert Stickgoldish hypnogogic moment; over epochs depicted in other forms more ancient than the shamans beyond our knowledge

In Yosemite's own parampara tradition it might be seen as something like Muir-Salathe-Pratt-Bridwell-Werner-Potter-Ahnold etc, though they're (mostly) too modest to acknowledge it, and other lineages are discernible.

There has been a rash of snide, vituperative remarks by some on the 'god' thread.

When i was a llama wrangler in Eagle county I was always amazed that the llamas could chow down on the caltrops, esp russian thistles.

My yearly runs from Sugar Bowl to Squaw had me feeling quite tarahumara-ish.

I'd make better time on my road trips if they made flux-capacitors for other vehicles than deloreans! hmm, what about TARDIS technology?

That kid Honnold strikes me as the wunderkind of his day, it's amazing what he's doing.

Walt could be an animal, though many meeting him at other times took him to be lackidasical.

Fumarole

i only ever ran it as half of the PCT 50k (slightly different course, aid stations etc, which help a lot, though making it less Tarahumara-like) but did do it in under seven hours a few times.

The stink of Shasta's summit fumarole is both unmistakable, and remarkable, when one consider's Muir's binary hot/cold encounter eons ago...
