All we're sayin' roxy, is you bring it upon yourself.
Think about that. In whatever setting.
Then act accordingly.

I haven't heard of Bogus Basin for yeeaaarrs. Drivin to South Idaho from North Idaho was too far. We'd get down to Brundage all the time but South of McCall was Purgatory and South of the Tetons was Hell.

Healthy secession feelings up north. No leadership for it though so no problem. All would take is about 3 energetic politicians with nothing better to do.

Was reading an article in Ski Area Management (magazine) the other day, that said there's a strong possibility Kirkwood will be purchased by the corporation that owns Alta.

The big news is the new owners plan to BAN SNOWBOARDING at Kirkwood. Reasons include much cheaper liability insurance and expectations of attracting a "higher quality clientele".

Kirkwood's problem is that the clients have to be willing to freeze their A$$s off on stuck lifts during the electrical outages.

Skied a bunch at Taos- It's sort of like KW in a way, great skiing, a little hard to get to, a little less glitzy. Taos finally gave up on the no snowboard thing. I think Alta can do it cause Snowbird is right there, and it's one of the best places going. These days most families (i.e., good $ for the areas) are likely to have one tray rider.

I think once Kirkwood does it, other resorts around Tahoe will see the light and ban snowboarding too. Seems like an upcoming trend.

Snowboarding is on its way out.

Is everyone who skis and snowboards in Tahoe a beginner noob?

Serious question.

Are they really noobs?

Or rather, are they local employees working the overnight shift for minimum wage, getting off at 700 am, doing a wake and bake at 800am, then jamming for the slopes by 9?

Most sloppy sliders I run into are simply too tired, too buzzed and too young to admit to either.

Snowboarding saved skiing! If not for snowboarding, skiers would still be flailing in powder on skinny skis and instead they are carving on top of the snow, experiencing the dream that snowboarders have known since day one.
