I still think this one is coming down to mental toughness and intensity--and I'd say Boston has cracked LA. Maybe not Kobe, but the doubt is creeping in like venom for the rest of the golden boys.

Good to see Pierce bust out. He has the guts of a true champion.

Lets make Nicholson go Shining-crazy on the refs when the Celts go up in game six.

Celts/Lakers is always one for the ages.

I totally agree that almost all of the 12 Celtics-Lakers series were/are classic (the four game 7's in these champ series have been decided by a total of 16 points...and all but two of the past 11 series went at least 6 games), BUT the "rivalry" has been, across series, quite one sided.

Celtics have won 9 out of 11...so far.

edit: Survival, game 6 is Tuesday night. if necessary, game 7 is Thur.

Maybe the Celtics didn't like the last time the TV camera "listened" in on Phil Jackson telling his team that Boston is the best team in the NBA at losing in the 4th quarter.

Kinda like Bush telling the insurgents in Iraq to bring it on . . .in hindsight the comment sounds pretty foolish.

I live in CO, but once a year we go to visit my sister who lives in
Newton, for Thanksgiving. Each year my brother-in-law takes me to a game,
and we sit a few rows back at center court, and make small talk with
Kevin Garnett's sister and husband. It is really fun to follow these Celtics, and yell support for them while watching the game in Boulder, wearing our Celtics shirts.

Go Celtics in six!

Come on Pate, what other team in the history of sports has done so much, with so little for so long?

I think you can understand Donini better knowing he is a Yankee fan and prone to Yogi- isms in his own celebrated Donini-ism style.

Hilarious that almost no one had the Celtics winning the Finals this year and now they're on the good end of an elimination game. They looked so old and feeble all year and then they turn on the gas.
Kobie is one bad mofo. Probably the best jump shot of all time. He wore himself down in the 3rd quarter and didn't have as much energy in the 4th. No other Laker could get it done.
Got to give credit to Doc Rivers. The Celtics seems more inspired and confident. Not only is the Celtics bench bringing good energy, but the Lakers have no answer for Rondo. That guy is 6'1" with a 6'9" reach. Must be nice.
Game 6 is going to be sweet! Beat LA!

The Celtics have tried two big dunks and come up empty.

They forgot that the good ol' backboard works when the big drama fails at times.

Only 4 points, but they could sure use them at this point.....

16-20 point lead pretty much all game so far - withholding excitement, it's not over yet...

But, GO LAKERS!!!!
