great stuff here.

Anyone ever catch the SLC band, 'The Massacre Guys'? Saw them open for X the first time I saw them. Their biggest no hit was a song called 'ZCMI' sung to the tund of the Pistol's song EMI. Again, great stuff.

Check out:

The Crucified

They were my favorite band of the 80's just happened to be punk and later crossover(thrash/punk). They opened for Pantera and D.R.I. a number of times and were asked by Phil Anselmo to be the opening gig on the Vulgar Display of Power tour('92).

Anyone hear Keith Morris' new band OFF!? it basically sounds like what would have happened if he never left Black Flag. For my money he was the best punk vocalist of all time. All though listening to Chavo (a mexican) sing White Minority always gets me going.

"New Yorks Alright if you like saxaphones" by Fear is one of the best punk songs ever. And anything by the Bad Brains is tough to beat.

When Jack was the front man, before Joe took it all Glam/Metal... I know both Jack and Joe well, and while Joe is a great blues man now, not what T.S.O.L. was all about. They've done well for a while now, as Jack got em back togather, sans Farmer, who died of a brain aneurysm. And Joe has has some success writing, playing and singing blues... He even opened for Muddy Waters back in the 90's, fronting a band called Cisco Poison.

Also, what about Exene, John Doe, Billy Zoom, and DJ Bonebrake, of X?

And, I'll agree on DK too:

musta seen these guys live at the Spirit Club about a gazillion times. "Nothing Town" was an anthem for me, and "I-5" is still one of my all-time favorite instumentals.

Grew up on all the same sh#t, Pate. Love it...and still do.

Once smoked a big fattie with Daryl and Dr. Know of Bad Brains out back of the the old Haunt in Ithaca NY, before one of their many shows there.

I was stoked. Bad Brains are still untouchable in my opinion.

Rock for light!

Not to perpetuate talk of "the good old days"....but I have fuzzy memories of being tossed out of a Ramones show in San Diego, for slam dancing! Saw them many times in the 80's, when Dee Dee was still with them. But one of my favorite punk bands was Generation X...Billy Idol's first band...good stuff

Good stuff... I grew up near that cemetary. Takes me back. I think that pic is a little later than that though... Maybe '84ish.

A bit of trivia here... Jack was one of the many who ran for Governor of Ca when the Terminator won it:

He got less votes than Gary Coleman. :/

Saw Black Flag in a High School gymnasium in Kalamazoo MI in 1984. I climbed up on a overhead bar (like a horizontal ladder 7 feet up) to keep from getting killed in the mosh pit. freaked my suburban self right out.
