If it's not a put on it's pathetic. Christmas music always depressed the hell out of me. Bob Dylan made a career out of mediocrity and anger schtick. Listening to these songs makes me reach quickly for my meds.

"I also thought he was Jewish?"
Shot Of Love seemed like what's called Christian Rock today.
Dylan transcends religion, and he's always been ahead of his time (Christmas album excepted).

Dylan was born Jewish, then went through an evangelical Christian phase, then supposedly returned to his Jewish roots. Has he gone Christian again, or more commercialized with the Christmas album? I vote for more commercialized and I certainly won't be buying it!

He doesn't need the money, so I can only imagine he really likes the tunes. Or did I hear that the proceeds are all to go towards some worthy cause?
The music sounds really creepy- chintzy, unironic Bing Crosby-style holiday cheer with BD doing a kind of Louis Armstrong thing over it....hard to believe that this is the guy that brought us "It's all Right, Ma." But then again, maybe he not busy being born is busy dying.
