that is Veteran's Hospital 'Beer'; up until the last few years, doctors would write a presecrition for a beer.
it was used as a way for Vets to manage alcholol withdrawal during their hospital stays;
its was in lieu (less expensive for sure) of heavily sedating them with Benzos. creative I think.
where'd you get it?

That is generic beer. Made by the Lone Star brewery in Texas back in the late 1960's early 1970's. It had a little disclaimer on the back that said something like "Generic beer, suitable for every day drinking". A favorite of poor student climbers.

Thank god you posted this. I remember seeing these in the grocery store when I was a kid in TX. I never saw it once I got to drinking age and thought I had imagined the whole thing.

Used to be able to get those beers from the air force base near Fargo(IIRC) less than 10 years ago...not sure if it was the Lone Star variety though...
