Don't know the guy. Not sure his history and all that. Certainly has an opinion on things I don't disagree with much.
But I have to say.... his thread which is sure to hit 10000 posts has to be appreciated. All the political junkies seem to be hanging out in one place.
That's dam impressive!

Hear, hear. You gotta hand it to a guy who starts the 'Droids' thread for a couple of thousand posts, then goes on to the 'Repubs are wrong about everything' thread for nearly 6K posts, keeping us polititards all in one place. All the while, he is as fervent and persistent as he was on Post #1. If he is as focussed and relentless on the sharp end, it must be a sight to behold.
Edit vvvvv: Damn right, baby! Come on in...the spray is HOT!

Dr. F == Craig Frye?
If so I retract my statements about KNOTT knowing anything about him.
"6000 or 106000 its the same 20 people"
so true, but the point is they are all on one thread and not 21 threads! That's f'ing proud!

I totally disagree with the dude politically, but I hear he's a cool guy.
Whatever, we should have beers somtime, Chris!
Is it Craig or Chis??? I know the prolific climbers last name (F), I though it was Chris....
whatever.

Some very good points are being raised and discussed coherently thanks to Craig's initiatives.
That's how our country is supposed to work.
Thanks for reminding us!

That's Dr. Craig hoisting a world famous drink of his called a JIB. Juice (usually orange) ice and beer. It's great. Been indulging in some ever since we remet from bitd at Todd Gordon's fundraiser in April and he shared his receipe with me.
A toast to Craig.....thanks for being my Dudes friend. Peace, Lynne. (and keep the secrets dude. :D)

Right on. Dr. F is bringing good ju ju witchdoctor
How often does a political thread also serve those who hate political threads? By keeping them in one place and it's got juice.
Peace

I've appreciated being on the opposite side of the rants on religion. I'd far rather chat with someone who is fervent in his beliefs than somebody who lives in apathy. Dr. is surely the former. I'd far rather argue politics and religion in person! Hope to share a campfire sometime. Probably won't ever happen, but the world is a small place. You never know.
Cool Cacit thread by the way.

I am leaving for the Sierra in about one hour but will return to post on the good Dr's thread. He and I have climbed many a route bitd including about 300 FAs and 2 El Cap routes.
ps. Those of you who do battle with him on the political threads are so naive (that's the nicest way I can think of putting it!).

No one has really mentioned his early contributions to Joshua Tree (and other SoCal) climbing areas.
Or his early bouldering guidebook to SoCal, long before the masses thought of it as an end to itself.
He and I haven't always seen eye to eye, but I can't help but have respect for him.
