...Mr. Levine, who is 95 and has had operations on both knees, in June set the American record in the 400-meter dash for men aged 95 to 99, only to see it broken at the U.S.A. Masters Outdoor Track & Field Championships a few weeks later. “Nothing counts unless you’re first,” he said. ...

Hats off to 'em! These geezers are so slow they're in danger of dying before the finish line from the sheer passage of time---the Grim Reaper must be a lot slower than anyone realized.

Most of us won't be seeing anything like those ages, much less attempting to sprint towards anything but a wheel-chair-enabled bathroom.

Shite, I'm kinda speechless here healyje. I really am....a pretty much first for lynnie. Will weigh and then maybe weigh in. Maybe.

Edit: first thought ....they are all so white. Do they only train and never go to the beach ? Sad....at their age to be so too focused. Cross living is life.....surf, kayak, climb, bike, snorkel, fish and more...but live and let the sun touch yo ....Yes, let the sun touch you. imho of course, lynne

I didn't feel like giving away my data just now to the Times. What's the 400m record for 95 year olds?

3 minutes and 20 seconds. They need an hourglass for timing these races, not a stopwatch.

Hey Lynne, maybe one reason these folks are out there running races at an age when most of us will be pushin' daisies rather than lap times is because they didn't fry themselves to a carcinogenic crisp when they were younger.
