His sister contacted me and would like to talk to some of his former climbing partners. If you did or know someone who did, can you contact me and I will put you in touch?

Thank you,
Ken

Tami,

He died on El Cap in 1997. That is all I know.

1977. He was age 29 at that time.

Jeff Hall, Nose, 1977 (ANAM 1978). Retreating from the Dolt Hole
back towards Sickle Ledge. Their rope was jammed in the crack
below Dolt Hole, he was working to free it, but his locking
biner came off the rope, and he fell to the ground.

That sounds like the accident that happened with Sherry (Shartel) McVoy? If so, she still lives in Berkeley. I don't have her contact info anymore, but can get it.

Yes, Jeff Hall's partner during the accident was Shary McVoy.

It was about 30 years ago, so it could be the same Jeff Hall that Tami's husband grew up with and climbed some with.

This is a pretty old tread but I'll give it a try. Im Chris Morrissey. Jeff Hall's nephew. I am currently just trying to learn about my Uncle that I never knew outside of stories my mom and aunt would tell me. I was born the year he died on the nose. His passion for climbing and being outdoors inspired me to pick up climbing at a young age. If anybody can place me in contact with Sherri I would truely appriciate it. All the best.
