Any climbers coming up this weekend, a couple of hours of cleanup Saturday morning, and a free bar-b-que lunch! Plenty of time to crag afterwards. This is not a climber event, but it would be cool to see a few caring climbers there. I have done it the last two years, pretty fun!

Annual Donner Summit Cleanup Day
Please come and help keep Donner Summit beautiful!

The annual cleanup of Donner Summit will take place on:

Saturday, June 13th, 10:30 am

Meet at the Soda Springs Store. Bring work gloves, sunscreen and lots of enthusiasm. You will be provided with a region to clean, water, and garbage bags. Come prepared for a great time!

Party immediately following, final location to be announced when you turn in your garbage.

Friends and family are welcome!

Peter, I wish you'd posted this sooner. Last night after a scrum session we cancelled plans for Donner ( weather) and are now Pinnacles bound. Next time. And I still need to talk outdoor education with you, sometime.

Thanks Jay, who goes to pinnacles in June? Strange weather, only got home last night, climbed at Star Walls in the last hour of light, perfect cool temps all day yesterday, no rain. 30% chance of t storms today, 50% tomorrow.

Thought of you, last mon-tues provided a day of enviro-ed for all the 6th graders in Truckee (190 of them) and personally guided two disabled kids, one in a chair and one with downs. Did our wetland survey piece, collected the bugs in the water and hunted for herps. Went really well, parent and teachers were super stoked (so was I) local paper is running an article, I will send you a link.

That kid I met in the valley with braces on his teeth is doing some cool work all these years later.
Thank Peter, I'll be in touch.

Maysho: Donner is my old home-crag, and I sincerely wish I could be down there for this cleanup day! Thanks for putting it together! I hope those who are still locals can come out and spruce things up. That's one of my favorite places in the world.

Mooser, I did not put this together, it is a project of the local community association, Donner Summit Area Association. Lots of skier trash flows down the hills and along the roadways. I always take the area from the Ski Ranch to Snowshed wall, plenty of stuff to pick up.
