Today I received an order in the post for a couple of DOLT shirts (Thanks! Marty!) and along with the order were a couple of photos. The first has some really cool DOLT stuff in it (check out the DOLT pen!) and the second... well, let's just say this guy will never encounter a crack he can't sew up!
For those looking for the coolest climbing shirts...

Gents,
What is crazy is that the two photos shown (Dolt and mass gear) is only 1/10th of my overall collection. What you are not seeing in the photos is 1000 pitons, fabric items, 1200 different bolt hangers, hammers, shirts, banners, stickers, over 4000 climbing schwag items, 2000+ signed photos, 2000+ climbing holds, 100 nut tools, shoes, belay devices, tons of chalkbags, slings, ropes, ladders, etc, etc..... I totally love climbing everything and obviously climbing has consumed my life. I am grateful that so many people believed in me to create this massive collection, someday to be a museum.
The Dolt screw device is called a CrackJack and actually goes back to 1959 since it was used by Harding for the Hardings Slot on Astromans First Ascent. I am 99% sure that this is a Dolt device, but I have never found any written documentation on the device. Many items that Dolt created are not all listed in Dolt catalogs. Old Summit magazines specifically 1958 - 1961, 1966 - 1971 showed many advertisements for new Dolt items, many of which he never created? I love collecting Dolt items since it always seems to be a new discovery. And with every new discovery the craftsmanship is always exquisite. I still seek the TwinkleDolt headlamp which Don Lauria had one of the two that were made, The Dolt Cobra Hook which Ken Yeager has in the Yosemite museum. I just missed the wheels off of the Doltcart which were thrown out just before I tracked them down. The Dolt Winch was used as a door weight to Westridge Sports climbing store in CA. Not 100% sure what happened to the winch but it was believed to be trashed many years before the Dolt wheels were trashed. Also to this day no photos have ever surfaced of the adjustable wingnut pitons Dolt made for Harding for the finish of the Nose Route in 1958. I also have Doltrope, hammer holsters, and many personal items of Dolts which are not shown in the photos. Keep in mind that when Dolt started climbing, he stamped all of his gear "DOLDT" until 1958 when it was changed to DOLT. 1n 1958 his pitons were unmarked but he started marking his DOLTSTER hammer holsters which had the Dolt stamp. Dolt sold pitons, holsters, bolt hangers and bolt brushes and custom unique prototype items and then went out of business in January 1962 when he moved to Santa Monica CA. Dolt restarted his business in July 1966 where the new Dolt logo (in piton symbol) was created and Trademarked. At this time between 1966 and 1971 (death) Dolt created a world of climbing gear. Absolutely brilliant!!!!!
Rock on!
Marty

Again Marty nice work! I am actually holding the the original document from the US Patent Office with Dolt's Logo registration. It states that the mark was, "First use July 11, 1966; in commerce Aug. 19, 1966." The Examiner was A.D. Hooks which is sorta cool when you think about his name for a moment.
Now, this document is interesting considering your interest in the TwinkleDolt. Along the margin Dolt has written one of his taglines/sales pitches he was so fond of.
Do you have any of his jewelry in your collection?

THANK YOU nb3000!!! I have been tracking any info on this Crack Jack piece of gear and associated history for 12+ years. Thanks for the link! The Crack Jack shown in the Dolt gear photo was created by Peter Haan and Les Wilson in 1964. This means that Harding who gave it to Bridwell who gave it to me could not have used it on the FA of Astroman in 1959. It still made a lot of ascents with some great climbers even though it is not a Dolt. Does anybody else out there have one of these Crack Jacks? The Nut Story by Stephane Pennequin in Corsica France really needs one. His nut and cam collection is unbelievable.
I love this climbing history stuff,
Marty

I wonder if anybody has one of those Doltcards? Further proof of the TwinkleDolt is fantastic. Any photos or sketches of it or what it looked like?
I have a bronze Little peg and many older climbers I have met have them as well, however they are always bronze. I know one person with the Golddiamond littlepeg but he wont give it up. Maybe someday he will add it to the collection.
This story will melt yous: A few years ago I was floating around ebay and I came across a Dolt Littlepeg bronze for sale. I couldn't believe it but it has two manufacturers tags tied to it for sale for .99 cents, 6 days left of course. Waiting for six days to stomp on it was tough, rrreeeaallllllyyy TOUGH!!! I laid out 350.00 on it and landed it for $5.85 plus ship, just over $8.00!!!! I got it at home and it totally blew me away, almost like fainting or something! Look at DOLT PHOTO very top edge just left of center. The bronze little peg has two tags tied to it. The blue tag has a yellow string and the yellow tag has a blue string. The blue tag has the piton Dolt logo stamp and says "Littlepeg" and on reverse it has 3 patent numbers. The yellow tag has Dolt address and on reverse it has his full signature "Bill Dolt" in ball point pen. The signature is perfect!
Can you imagine if he did this with every piece of gear that he sold? WOW! This Littlepeg has become one of my most valued treasures of Dolt since it shows that he really went far beyond to show the world that he put his total heart into his creations.
And he did this all by himself?
I also have the Backpackers Sewing Awl and instructions on how to use it. Fun Stuff!
