On Wednesday I set up a belay about 20 feet below the set of bolts near the top of South Crack and I found (this is not a joke) a pair of boxer shorts that had been crapped in and cut off (presumably from under a harness) with a knife. I guess someone got a little scared by the runout. If they belong to you, they're probably still up there. I'd also like to hear the full story, were you still on belay, had you built an anchor, etc. Probably the funniest thing I've ever seen climbing.

That's taking Fruit of the Loom a bit too far.

I think they took "runout" a little too literally.

Boxers for old men? I always thought it was tighty whities for old men and ball-saving boxers for the young-uns.

Well, he might have seen a pair of boxers with the ass cutout, hanging on a clothesline in Camp4, since he goes by there often.

Ricardo-
I didn't inspect too closely, but it looked like it had been there for a bit longer than that...

Poop on route is not funny.
Poopy underwear cut out from underneath a harness definately is...as long as I'm reading about it and not trying to manle over it, that is.

"i watched 2 teams of 2 (4 total climbers) epic"
All 4 beshat themselves at the same time? That is epic. Or maybe epidemic.

Seems to be a trend starting....since Slobmonster shared that "huge nasty dookie on Haystack, at Lover's Leap"

there was a lot of traffic on South Crack on Saturday too, we were up Dixie Peach after lunch (around 2pm) with the team next to us on S.Crack in epic mode, but I doubt that they did it (husband and wife, is too civilized, at least at their particular age). There was a team of three that went up after them, also unlikely to have done it (two guys and a gal, of an age where uncontrolled bowl movements would counter-indicate successful mating behavior). The weekend before last (so Sat. 7/9) we were up there and didn't see the boxers (and our party of three are old men who wear jockies or nothing... I know TMI)... it wasn't us!

My buddy *almost* shat hiself after seconding up the first pitch of SC, daisying in, & finding his end of the rope only threaded through his harness. No knot ! And that pitch was not nearly far enough from his upper limit at the time. His bachelor party roadtrip almost ended poorly.

Wish I'd had a camera with me, but it was nowhere near as epic as that Haystack mess.

Well i climbed South crack of 7/16 .. and saw no sh#t-stained-boxes ..
so it must have happened after that date ..
the part of 4 that i watched epic must have spent about 2 hrs hanging out at belay #2 waiting for someone to get up the cojones to lead the runout pitch #3 .. (we linked pitches so i dont think this matches the topo) ..
... ahh .. 5.6 friction ..

I believe what the picture above shows is a huge scat left by old #46.
If his mouth is as big as his ass, I wouldn't want to be on the rock with him.
