Trying to bump this back up toward the top, since nobody's responded yet. I'm heading out to the Palisades in a few weeks, so any info on trail conditions, snow levels, route conditions, etc., would be greatly appreciated.

The trail from the parking lot to the bivie should be dry. you may encounter some snow at the top and parts or the decent.
If hot weather persist, in a few weeks or month the snow should minamul.

Tioga Pass isn't even open, there is still snow at the top of Northstar Ski Resort, and even saw some snow at Lovers Leap.
Temple Crag is how high?
I would guess bring your skis and ice axe.
Let us know how it is though, I was planning heading up there in Late August.

Climbed Venusian Blind Tuesday. Insignificant snow to Third Lake. The log jam at Third lake is mostly under water but passable(this could be current crux). Soft snow from Third Lake to base of routes. Did not take or need crampons. Soft snow down Contact Pass. Jim

Yes, Temple Crag is very dry and in perfect condition. There's a good arguement that the Third Lake log jam isn't perfect right now. Jim

I read about Temple Crag climbs in summitpost.org. Is it grueling to do all the pitches in one day and hike back down? I am just getting started on trad climbing, so I'm not ready yet. I suspect I also need to get alot more miles of hiking in at higher altitudes before I could even think of attempting this.
