Hey Alpinist magazine, just how many new subscriptions would it take to keep the issues coming out? Is it a magazine subscription problem, or an advertising problem?
A potential subscriber...tell me you are hanging tough I will subscribe same day.

I didn't see this coming at all.
I sure hope it can be resurrected at some point.

"Is it a magazine subscription problem, or an advertising problem?"
It's probably a credit crunch problem. They can't get financing. Listen to the podcasts that Chris Mac recommended in the Financial Meltdown Information Thread.

credit issue likely is the cause, and no doubt the company was living close to the bone anyway.
I've already seen other small business' here in NYC close their doors in the last week or so too.
What a shame - Alpinist was really a good publication.

What a loss! I re-upped my sub when they had that warehouse fire to try and help them stay afloat. Don't even miss the money lost, every issue was such a gem and so filled with inspiration.

Part of me is not surprised. But but on the other hand bummed as it was the only descent rag in USA.
One of the few the proud owners of 0-25.
Anyone need issue 8? Make me an offer.
If I get desperate (i.e. my stocks tank) I might sell a duplicate 0 and 1. In the mean time folks can temp me with some offers.
