I know how you like the mountains, so I decided to give you your own mountain thread. I hope you can accept this thread in good faith and not take it for anything other than what it is...a gift from me to you. :)

These are the film versions of the digital reflection shots I took the last week in July in the Hoover Wilderness. The peak in most of the shots is North Peak. A lot of the shots are very similar composition but the different colors made them interesting. Sorry if the scan quality isn't up to snuff.

That's a fine gesture, Jody.

North Peak is one of my favorites.

Hey Jody, what's a good scanner for medium format (6x7) chromes?

Nice pics and nice gesture, BTW.

PS Oops, sorry, I'm not t*r. Well not really, actually I'm GLAD I'm not her, but that's another story.

Dirt, I have no idea. I do know one thing, if you find a film scanner for 6x7's, it'll be expensive.

These were scanned with a $220 Konica-Minolta Scan Dual IV. It does okay but recently I purchased a new laptop. The 64-bit OS doesn't support the scanner software. I ended up purchasing VueScan which does work and these are my first scans using that software. The film is Kodak E100VS and Fuji Velvia 50. I really wish there was a way to show these images exactly as the slides appear. The slides look really sharp and I just can't get the same look when presenting them here.

Maybe Jerry will see this.

It's been a few years, surely those things are better now and cheaper??

Nice Jody, I turned the photo's on their side and they make some crazy abstract figure pieces. Aliens live within the mountains.

Nice shots, Jody! I particularly like #'s 5, 7 and 8.

Dirt - 6x7's should really be drum scanned. That's the only way to get get really good quality out of them. You're looking at having a pro lab do them, as the cost of a drum scanner is WAY cost prohibitive for the home user.

That is the highest compliment anybody can pay me...thanks.

Clevenger is in a class by himself...as long as you say I just remind you of him, I'll take it.:)

Thanks folks...it is all just a matter of being in the right place at the right time. I'll be heading over to Bishop the first week in October, hopefully I'll hit the fall colors about right.
