The exhibit opening went very well. Several hundred people showed up for the event. We managed to go through 8 cases of wine and polished off the hors d’oevres that my wife made for the evening. My only complaint would be that it was too short and I was too busy to talk to all the people that I wanted to.
The exhibit was funded by The Yosemite Fund and Royal Robbins, Inc. I gave the Yosemite Fund a VIP walk-through just prior to the opening and they were ecstatic with the results.
Yesterday, 500 people went through the doors in about a five hour period. The docents are excited and said that people are spending a long time looking at the exhibit. If you are up this way, come check it out.
It was great to meet Wally Reed and Peter Haan. I enjoyed seeing Mike Graham again after nearly 30 years.
I will post some pictures after the camera battery is recharged.

Ken,
Big Congrats! the event was incredible. I got so caught up in visiting that I barely made it in to rapid view the awesome exhibit before they kicked me out.
You should be really proud of your accomplishment, and the generations of Yosemite climbing pioneers owe you a big thanks for putting this rich history in public view at last.

Thank you Peter. Today, I just scored an 1875 George Anderson Half Dome spike for the collection. This has to be about the best week of my life.

The museum is awesome, starting from John Muir's Sierra cup ending with the Huber Bro's 2007 speed ascent. Ken, it is spectacular!

Thank you for all the effort you've put into creating something for all the park's visitors to enjoy and simultaneously showing the legitimacy of climbing as an integral part of Yosemite.
The opening was great! Everyone felt welcomed and enjoyed the exhibit. The food was delicious and plentiful, as was the wine.

I hope you all get a chance to see the exhibit. 500 people went through the doors today in a 5-hour period. It appears like it will be the most heavily attended exhibit ever.

Nice! I enjoyed the exhibit (and the wine). Was feeling a bit shy after getting spit off of WC on my first attempt at aid.

Wow!! Ken, it looks like you just scored a ten. I can't imagine all it took to get that together.
It's hard to recognize people after not seeing them for twenty years or more!
I recognized a few. You, Jobee, Bill R., Kauk, Yerian, Mayfield, Graham.....I'm ashamed of how many I may not have recognized. It's been too long.
I sure am looking forward to the facelift. You're an energetic fellow. Congratulations!!

The opening and the exhibit were fantastic!!
I have some photos as well, but I'll have to post them in a couple weeks when I have some time.
The wine and appetizers were delicious. Lots of smiles and handshakes.
John Muir's tin cup. George Anderson "bolts". Lots of Salathe, Dolt, Stovelegs, etc. gear.
The kids loved where you can play with climbing gear. What an insightful addition!
