Micah took a bad spill. One of the greatest people I have ever met and amazing climber. FA in Peru... He broke his neck in 3 places. He told me he is being positive.

I don't know what else to say

Here's the story. Looks like he jumped into a creek and hit is head:

Good luck to Micha! Makes my neck hurt just thinking about it. I know I've come close to doing the same thing to myself. All those headplants into hard snow...and pitoning headfirst into the sand at the Wedge or Zuma beach.

Micah!
I love that guy... No! This news is horrible!

I too wish him a quick and complete recovery. If he needs visitors, (I make it a habit to visit hospitals with chocolate) drop me an email.
Beyond that, let him know "we" in the climbing community are there for him.

Dang it! I am not happy...

Crap! I love that guy! Glad he's going to be okay.

He and I started out climbing right around the same time. He went from newbie to rockstar at a speed I've never seen. He's one of those climbers with so damn much natural talent that he makes everything look so easy. And such an all-around nice guy on top of that.

Cheers to a speedy recovery and getting back on the rock again soon.

John Bachar first went to two separate hospitals: Both didn't do anything productive to help him with his broken neck. In fact the one in Utah actually endangered him when they released him with nothing but a collar to protect/secure his various neck fractures. Now that I think about it... We were on a plane, drove in LA traffic and just one slip, one fall, one mild accident and he would never have walked again...

The hospital that finally did put him back together and in a sense provided a miracle recovery was Cedars Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles.

I highly recommend Micah to go there...

Sending my best regards,

I don't know Micah, but that matters not a bit. I hope he is doing well and recovers quickly. Best to him -

That's a complete bummer. Folks that know him might want to let him know about Anastasia's advice given they when through that wringer already...

Terrible news. Thoughts and prayers are with him. Just met "James" of North Overhang solo fall fame and he is doing excellent and cranking hard again. Great attitude gets you everywhere. So, complete recovery is possible. Stay strong Micah.

Good luck fella: It's a thing of concern that we can all of us be there tomorrow with just a small spot of bad luck.
