Spent a couple days exploring Tony's Canyon and the vicinity...some fun varied stuff out there. Didn't bring the ropes the first day, but the did the following day...about 2 dozen established routes out there, with room for more, as well as a couple projects to boot. Lots of bouldering potential too...
Unfortunately, I only brought out the camera at a few times...here's some shots
Looking at a couple routes...
New boulder problem...nice plates in this one...
running around...
New OW project...thrashed me and Mojede on day 1...couldn't get back on it the next day...my arms are now covered in scabs...
Spied this short splitter one day 1, came back to it the following day...
That's all for now...
Cheers,
Tom

3 trips to the batholith took a toll on the skin--well worth the price for admission.
This wrasslin' pebble moved to the top of the "to do" list.
Welcome Spring !

Best boldering shot I've seen yet out of the batholith.
All these pics are sweet, thanks for posting them.
Cuz, my friend Dan says if you scab up your hands, arms and knees, your offwidth technique is really bad.
I've looked like that before. :)

s + t = T
shirt + tape = Technique
Not really, but on the grainier thrutch-fests I think it can't hurt.
bb cuz, 3 separate outings (15 mile drive included) in sub 24 hours was prolly the culprit in this case--but I am working on my technique.

Thanks for the nice comments y'all...there are more splitters out there to do, some nice faces too. I was pretty psyched, but we ended up running short on time. The rock isn't going anywhere though...

More great stuff by the looks of it, Tom and Hutch.
One "problem" I see for the upcoming Bash is that, for some of
us, there may not be enough recovery time between crystal
rolfing sessions.

Sheeeet.
Y'all will do just fine, when the fingee-tippers hurt, go wide. When the hands hurt, go slabbin'. When the feet hurt, go swimmin'. Plenty o' variety to keep everyone busy and happy.
Hospitality and convenience will be the hosts' part. You folk just come here and have a good ol' time.
I'm watchin' the snow melt on the pass, and just waitin' to get at some more zones and probs checked out for y'all.

that "pebble" could be quickly buttoned-up with bolts and deemed a cutting edge sport route at any moment .

Jay & Scuff:
crystal rolfing hehe I like that...
With all the training y'all have been doing, I don't think you have too much to worry about...I'm more concerned you'll hike it all...we gotta find something that'll make us rolf 'till we ralph...hehehehe

TK,
Nice photos, especially that splitter!
mojede,
My hands and arms start looking like that before I get on an OW...just contemplating the pain makes abrasions on my wimpy skin. Long-sleeves, tape, attack-training padding...that's what I need.
Thanks for the posts you guys!

Nice guys! Personally, I'm winding my way back to the Big Sky after a brief hiatus to Colorado. Went down to Boulder to do a little spring climbing and after a short stay at Vedauwoo I'm on my way back home. Presently, I'm in Lander where I had hoped to do maybe a little early season bouldering up Sinks Canyon but right now it's snowing cats and dogs outside. Thus, I made my way to the library to check out the news. Sure hope it's warm and dry in the Batholith when I get back!
