Hey I know! Let's take all the anger and bitterness about 400 years of oppression and marginalize it as racism as a way of not having to confront the problem!

"marginalize it as racism"? this guy is promoting the idea of physiological differences in the brains of white people and black people...he's actually claiming that differences between whites and blacks are not based on culture but on genetics...
replace reverend wright with pope benedict, and you'd be screaming about racism

bookworm - just so we understand.
Are you suggesting that suggesting that there are genetic differences between races is somehow wrong?

i'm simply suggesting that when white people claim genetic differences between races liberals go crazy with accusations of racism...
note to LEB, i'm NOT european, i'm american...i don't know many euros, but those i do know do not consider themselves europeans but french, german, belgium, italian, etc.
and look what happened to larry summers (former president of harvard) when he claimed differences between men and women "might" explain why there are fewer women in academia
again, if the pope had said this, i think the liberals would be demanding an apology

I--as a white male--do not fear racism against me in the US. Does any other white person here feel oppressed? Why?

LEB you keep saying that but have yet to articulate what those views are. That keeps tickling me.

So,
are asians right or left brained?
If Blacks are right brained why aren't an unusual number left handed?
Why did black literacy and graduation rates increase from 1870 to 1960, almost reach parity with the white population and then begin to decline?

ok, i'm open to being educated here because, apparently, i'm a european left brain and maybe this is one of those african right brain issues (of course, i'm half asian...so which part of the brain belongs to asians?)
left brain: Logical, Sequential, Rational, Analytical, Objective, Looks at parts
right brain: Random, Intuitive, Holistic, Synthesizing, Subjective, Looks at wholes
1. isn't the race aryan and NOT european? doesn't the term "european" refer to geography? and don't these racial classifications refer to facial bone structure? and didn't we all come from africa to begin with?
2. wasn't mlk's whole point that under the skin we're all the same?
3. if, as the good reverend claims, all people of african descent are "right brained" would i be guilty of discrimination if i wanted to hire a european left brain for a job that requires Logical, Sequential, Rational, Analytical, Objective thinking skills? (that's assuming i have the differences correct; i'm no expert on this two types of HUMAN brain concept...i took the above from a google search) doesn't the good reverend suggest that african right brains are not genetically suited for certain jobs? (and vice versa for european left brains)
4. if, as the good reverend claims, all those of us that are of "european descent"--which means 70%(?) of the country--are left brained and, as some here have claimed, our schools are set up for left brains, then shouldn't we educate african right brains separately? the alternative seems to be to change the most effective means of educating the majority to accommodate the minority, which seems irrational...but maybe i see it that way because i'm a left brain
please, somebody help me because i'm confused and a little scared by what the good reverend said

LEB
1. aryan, right? and didn't we ALL "originate" from the same place, at least, according to darwin and genesis?
2. ?
3. the good reverend didn't say anything about "some" africans; he said, “Africans and African-Americans are right-brained, subject-oriented..."; so, isn't the good reverend claiming that africans and europeans are genetically inferior for specific tasks? and wouldn't it makes sense, according to the good reverend, that i employ only europeans (or africans, depending on the task) to maximize the efficiency of my workforce?
4. if, as the good reverend claims, all those of us that are of "european descent"--which means 70%(?) of the country--are left brained and, as some here have claimed, our schools are set up for left brains, then shouldn't we educate african right brains separately? the alternative seems to be to change the most effective means of educating the majority to accommodate the minority, which seems irrational...but maybe i see it that way because i'm a left brain
5. since asians (is the correct racial term mongoloid?) tend to do as well (and often better) in our school system as "europeans", can't we assume they are also left brained?
6. what would your reaction be if pat robertson made the same claims about the genetic differences between african brains and european brains?

I'm not talking about right vs wrong, LEB..I'm talking being able to articulate them vs not. You keep saying that your views are more in line with candidate A than B, but when it comes to actually articulating any of the 3 you retreat to vagueness as you did above. There's nothing wrong for being for a candidate cause that's the one you like, but you keep saying it's for very specific reasons that when pressed you can't actually specify.

LEB
I'm suspecting that he's is suspecting that you are merely voting your gut and don't have a rational correlation between your beliefs and the candidates positions and records.

Uh, LEB, actually you can legally make gender a basis for job selection.
At least for women. Probably men, too, but they usually do not need to.

Not only gender, but even appearance.
For some jobs you can hire only good looking women.

LEB you have no idea what I believe, just as I suspect you don't know what McCain nor Obama believes but that doesn't seem to be stopping you from jumping to conclusions. I've asked you to be specific about what you believe, instead of simply assuming what you believe. You don't want to clarify, yet you will assume that I think a certain way.

Lois,
If you are directing a play about Eleanor Roosevelt, you will likely only consider hiring middle-aged white women.

bookworm,
What did you wake up this morning and decide this horse wasn't dead enough already, or is Fox News still trumpeting this topic.
Either way, I think the website you found your inspiration from is all too appropriate: hotair.com
