You know the type: diva, queen bee, etcetera and so forth.

My housemate has not spoken a word in about a month, save for one explosive blowup screaming session at my friend and guest, who was staying here looking after my dog for a few days. No good reason, just "STAY IN HIS ROOM WHILE YOU'RE HERE!!!"

And this is after previously exploding on another friend and I. We were watching 40 Year Old Virgin, and she busted in, arms crossed, chin high, and loudly accused us of describing her boyfriend as "ADDICTED TO P*SSY!!!" Obviously, she heard the TV, not us.

This morning I stuck myself in front of her, as she was leaving for the day.

"Are you around this weekend?"

NO

"Can we talk sometime next week then?"

NO, I'M BUSY.

Lease is till September 1. Thoughts of short-sheeting her bed, top-shelfing her commode, or putting cayenne in her underwear drawer have all crossed my mind. But any "prevenge" would certainly further the antipathy. I'd really just like to see if she can be calm enough to be civil (or vice versa). I've thought about moving out... but won't risk breaking a lease, and certainly can't afford 2 rents.

Mind you, she keeps in her hobbit hole when she's here, hardly even pokes her head out. I would simply prefer a shinier, happier living space.

Ideas and suggestions? I'm waiting with baited breath on your each and every quip.

I had a friend (male) in college who masturbated in their difficult roomates hair conditioner...they never told them about it. May be called for in this situation.

Tell her she's a c*nt, chicks respond well to that word.

I really don't know, but she sounds like the type that when confronted, she'll just become bitchier.

Best to avoid, get away.

It may not have anything to do with you at all. On the other hand with a handle of slobmonster and an email address of stinkytrou..@yahoo.com, you want to think about a couple of things. No way to tell, but the number one reason of roomate trouble normally has to do with cleaning up.

My two cents only

See her passive-aggression and raise her physical intimidation.

Once had a roommate who would periodically threaten me with kitchen knives. Somehow we made it to the end of the lease.

LOL
My female roommate just had a meltdown yesterday, because I left her a note about letting mold grow on month-old dishes and piling trash on top of the wastebasket until it's falling onto the floor.

Resolution: keep your wits, don't let her derail the situation with her bullsh*t and then lay down the law w/o beating around the bush.

Prior roommates were awesome; guess the universe needs balance.

Shagable? Not by me.

She's 38, tall, big butt, working on a graduate degree. Her bf just turned 27, he's super nice and mellow, probably a little whipped, but who hasn't been whipped at some point. I'm quite comfortable talking to him, and might do so, but fear that this would come back to me with negative repercussions.

Oh yeah.

Claims to have ADD, but regardless her diagnosis, she's on Ritalin and Adderall, and it shows.

And when I said "diva" I did not mean the talented singer type.

Hey, friend...Why are you worried about your lease? Usually when I've been able to replace myself, the landlord has had no problem giving me back my deposit. You could always ask them. (Unless she is them.)

You're welcome to come hide out if need be, although Annie will have to rage around out back b/c of the kitties.

Don't ask her if she's around for a "talk."
Firmly meet her eyes and say, "Look, I'm going to need you to stop being such a fvcking bitch."
