Just suck. Check out this link, bookmark it and check it every few days. http://www.ggweather.com/loops/gfs_12z_sfcnpac.shtml
What is up with that high sitting off the coast deflecting all of our snow-making weather away?
I bout had a corinary when I saw the big storm coming in next week looks to have fizzled out completly.
Now, this is a long range fantasy chart, and it does change frequently, but still, it has been my weather predictor for the past few years, and is pretty accurate, as far as I can tell.
I'm pissed I tell you, pissed. I want to go skiing!!!!!!

on the other hand, has Tioga Pass ever been open with Lee Vining ice in?! I'd go for a little of that...
...or high sierra ice?

The daily report for Yosemite calls for a dry weather pattern thru Christmas.
Time to start praying if you want a white Christmas.
We have a fire here is Wawona. So far we have been lucky with the smoke staying out of Wawona, but the fire leaked over the ridge and now they are talking about doing a burnout of the slope above Wawona because it is too steep for firefighters to attack directly. The only thing working directly on the fire are helicopters.
They plan to let the fire on the side of the ridge away from Wawona burn until it rains because it is considered to be wilderness and that it the current plan for wilderness.
We could have fire and smoke to another month. ugh... But I do understand.

I posted that before I'd been outside this morning. I went out to go to work, and Mt. Rose was socked in. Snow flurries @ 4700' by 9:30am. Snow on the ponies backs a half hour later. Boy did that cheer me up!
Then it cleared.
According to this site: http://www.sierramtnguides.com/index.cfm?navID=25
the ice is NOT in. Damn. I might have to finally get back on skates.
Bummer about the smoke, but I suppose it's better for the forest in the long run.

I'll be in the Gorge next weekend with Finn. That should cure my climbing (rock)jonesess(sp??)for the rest of the winter!! That guy is brutal, always makes me do things over my head. That's OK, I need a good thrashing for being such a beetch lately. Come to think of it, ice skating will probably thrash me too, havn't done it since I was 18!
Snow, ice, snow, ice, snow, ice. I want it. I got to have it.
