I just wanted to warn people that there are two extremely precariously perched rocks, one balanced on top of the other, up at the top of south face of washington column. They are located inside the cave area just below the bolts on pitch ten (super topo) or pitch 9 in reeds guide, against the west side wall. They seem to be 100lbs each, shaped like a large thigh resting on a large shin, and will definitely kill anyone if they fall down to dinner ledge. I pulled on them without inspecting them very closely, which pulled them loose. I had to push them back in with all my body weight, and am very concerned they could fall out with the slightest of a touch. I tried marking them with chalk, buy my chalk is just dust and unclear. I'm not sure what the common practice is for these situations, but in the least, if the next party to do this climb can bring something to clearly mark them with, that would be an improvement. Anyone know something better for these sorts of situations?

Thanks for the heads up. I'll keep avoiding that route. It's probably safer over on Glacier Point!
I vote to change the name of Dinner Ledge to Breakfast Ledge. -Pancakes served all day.

Never fear...those folks that rap the route from up high to avoid a hike down the NDG will get rid of them soon.
