I vividly remember sitting on my patio taking the air around 3am or so and as I looked at the night sky I found myself saying aloud "......There's something evil in the air".
I kid you not. I'm precognitive in dreams but this waking premonition was singularly notable.
What were your dreams that night? Can anyone recall feeling unusually uncomfortable or experiencing premonitions?

I was restless the night before--probably because I was going into the Humbug Spires the next day on my birthday to go climb "The Wedge" and "The Edge" car-to-car.

Strange hearing the events unfold on the radio as one is packing thier rope, rack and shite--and then heading into the hills not knowing what is happening, but assured that it is NOT occuring in a small Wilderness Study Area in Montana.

The climbing went well--as for the rest of the day........

That day has a place in my history, but for different reasons. September 10, 2001 I had a significant job interview. It was long in the making and fraught with opportunity. Things went well, then . . . I heard nothing for weeks. We were indeed knocked a little bit off our collective and personal axis.

At the same time our twins were only a few months old, so caring for them was nearly all-consuming. In the end I was too wiped out to recall subtleties about what vibe was in the air that day.

The next day I was feeding one of the girls around 6:15 A.M. PST and the phone rang. Six in the morning phone call - that's a first. We had a friends living down near Wall St. who had fled. Their place was inundated with dust afterwards. It was their brother calling to pass the message: "I'm OK, I'm still alive."

What are you talking about? I asked. What's going on?

NY is under attack - turn on the news. Etc.

Post Mortem Edit: Never felt creeped out or anything that day. But I don't pre-recognize my dreams or anything psychic like that. And I did end up getting the job after a few more interviews.

September 10, 2001 was my Dad's 75th. We had a big party at his place in Connecticut, and I caught my plane home to California that evening out of LaGuardia. We flew right over lower Manhattan and the Towers. Those buildings were landmarks to me for several reasons. Phillippe Petit is was a good friend back then too... The next morning the news comes on...

I had an extremely strange daydream while riding the bus on 9/11/01, at exactly the time the 2nd plane was heading toward the tower. Very, very very odd - thoughts of people saying "You have been wrong in your behavior, and now it must change" It was tanglesd with an idea of this nasty boss I was working with, but I then got a strange sensation of hearing the "Lord's Prayer" (Our Father....). Why - I don't know. But for some reason, I said that prayer to myself, and the words seemed to have a deep emotional feeling and I found myself crying. Not lying here....It was really bizarre.

One of those things that you can't understand unless you had the experience.

My story doesn't have any supernatural aspects (well maybe it does??) But I hadn't owned a television for years. About 6 months prior someone gave me one. I put it on my self, but it didn't have an antenna, so I got absolutely no reception, just gray fuzz. It sat there unused for 6 months. Then on Sept 10th, for some reason I decided to buy an antenna. Got up early on 9-11 and I'm walking around my room tying my tie, flipping the paper, and drinking coffee, getting ready to rush off to work and flipped on my "new" TV just for fun. First I thought it was a hoax. I didn't know what kind of sh#t was on morning TV. Got all the blow by blows as they came down. Weird coincidence if you ask me.

I still say the CIA (we just need another Pearl Harbor) and Israel were involved... but that's another topic.

Maybe contact Amazing Randy. He has a one million dollar challenge. Call it a posted $10k challenge with interest, so maybe this isn't completely off topic.

I remember that historically, religious movements have occurred after wars. I believe the explanation was that the collective social stress led people to seek a "greater cause". I may be remembering the utopian movements after the civil war, but I can't be sure.

Maybe during Vietnam, student protests gained traction first. Then, religious and other more mainstream groups saw injustice occurring, and change ensued. I wouldn't want to over simplify such a complex series of events.

Finally, maybe people are seeking connections in a seemingly stressful and disconnected world. I'm not dismissing their experiences in any way. Maybe like me, they have a jumble of thoughts and feelings at times. My uncle said he had a mystical experience that probably saved his life in the Korean War. I wonder if there are veterans who had similar experiences, and then nothing happened. I imagine that I would forget those thoughts and dismiss it as my superstition. However, if something random and horrible happened afterward, I'm sure I would remember that event.

Bad feelings before the big event? I wouldn't say that's uncommon. The trick is figuring out what they mean.

As for 9/11- I was in the valley. Myself and another friend who'll remain nameless decided to go climbing. It may seem callous, but the logic was that this was a very big deal and we didn't know what the next day would bring. While everyone else was running around like chickens with their heads cut of loading guns and sh#t, it was pretty clear that that day more jets were not going to crash into Yosemite Valley.

Yeah if things got worse and we mobilize for world war, I figured that might be our last chance for a while. We went to do the south face of the column, but there were too many people on the route so we did jo jo instead- a great route. A piece of beauty in an ugly world.
