I was looking at suicide/tahquitz for this weekend, but just saw the forecast is 112f, which sounds a touch warm. Just moved to OC from the east coast this month and am wondering about where to climb for day trips that is not too hot. Gracias.

recheck that number... all time record is 96 degrees.... for saturday. I'm getting a 94 sat and 86 on Sunday.... it is cooler than that up on the rock. Or go to Big Bear/Holcomb Valley.

that temp was for palm springs, not Idyllwild. So, it is not too hot to climb at tahquitz this time of year?

I find that depends on the Troll, some seem more sensitive to temperature than others. Rock trollls, not so much.

Tahquitz and suicide are definitely too hot.
Choss piles, anyway.
Why does anyone go up there?
Go to Mission Gorge instead.
That place is the sh#t, and not hot, either.

go to the beach! pirate's cove in carona del mar can be fun, depending on the amount of fiesta are going on and the how dry the rock is.
