I know that most of you folks are a good ways away from southeast Utah and Indian Creek. But as climbers we all have had to deal with, at some point, restrictions, access issues, etc, etc. The BLM has just released the Indian Creek Recreation Plan. The plan is open to public comment through August 31. Previous public comment periods during the early stages of the BLMs involvment at Indian Creek have received little public response, even from locals and semi-locals. Check out the Access Fund link below, educate yourself, and please comment on this plan. It represents a great opportunity for climbers to continue to self-manage our activities at the Creek and to continue to enjoy the wonderful desert setting and freedom that we all love about the area.

If you've got time to surf this site, you've got time to make a difference at the Creek by writing the BLM. The volume of talk here about the repressive management scene in YNP is hopeful-- if you're all so concerned, here's a chance to be well heard. The BLM only got 32 letters about this plan in its previous phase this, and for once they appear to be willing to work WITH climbers, and not against us. No other user groups seem to be weighing in heavily on this, so your voice should count for something.

I thought I would bump this to the top and add a little more encouragement. Even for those of you who are as cynical as me, it only takes a few minutes to respond.

Do it climbers!

I did and it is easy and very worthwhile.

I used to live in Moab and go there often. It is an amazing place and one that needs love and attention.

Time is running out - send you voice to those that can help.
