Was wondering if any of the locals could chime in on how things are shaping up around south tahoe? was thinking of heading out there mid next week

Do you honestly think that any of the back water strawbillies even have a computer?

...let alone a telephone to call you & tell you

... or even if they want you around to know?

You are only an hour away...

Why make the drive when you can sit at home in your underwear drinking a beer and let your fingers do the walking.

The leap is pretty snowy, you had better be pretty motivated, not to mention the descent. The spires are almost ready and don't be harshin the strawbillies.

i'm coming home from a four month deployment in a few weeks and can't wait to go climbing again. i was hoping to catch the tail-end of the snowboard season too, but i hear that spring is already in full effect.

Sugarloaf is absoultly terrible. snow all over the place, not shirts off in the sun or anything-dont go there youll hate all those shallow, bottoming corners, lets the gumbys go that place and dispell the rumors of all those killer liebacks and jams...

i flew over all of south tahoe last weekend. despite the super warm global warming temps, there is still a bunch of snow above 6000 feet.

sugarloaf if perfect right now. phantom spires is great when there is no wind. pie shop always good in the sun.

most other areas will probably be ready in may. unless the warm temp continue... but that is unlikely. last year it was sooooo warm in feb and march and then we got creamed in april.

ps: flew over calaveras dome and salt spring resevoir. guess they are fixing the dam and have had to bring the water level way down. this means that there is a ton of rock that is normally under water that is now exposed. nothing too impressive, but some cool looking bouldering.

just think of the possibilities: you put up a few FA's, the dam fills again and you can puff out your chest and claim that "i've put up over 50 problems in tahoe that nobody has been able to repeat"
