This is not a political thread.
This is not a religious thread.
Honest question for research regarding JFK JR.
Doesn't matter where you are politically. I happen to be a conservative independent, but JFK JR., comes from the most famous family in the Democratic party. I honestly really like the guy. Seems to me he is a really smart, likeable great guy and he turned into a really decent human being. He didn't want to be well known and famous as a Great man, he wanted to be well known as a Good man. His words.
I can find many images of the late(???)-great JFK JR, that show him from a young boy to a married husband that show him:
*skiing
*sailing
*hiking
*biking
*playing football in the park
*playing Frisbee in the park
*roller blading
*horse-back riding
*sea kayaking
*SUP (?)
*Swimming
*paragliding
*flying as a private pilot
Seems that he is the kind of guy that would love to climb: rock, snow, or ice. I'm sure he would have given it a go. Does anyone know if he ever did climb at all? Can't seem to find any pictures of him doing so. Perhaps maybe someone here at ST knows if he did or not???
I would like to know.
Now, there is a famous Mountain named after his assassinated father President John F. Kennedy, in the Coastal Saint Elias Range in the Yukon: Mount Kennedy (14,108'ft).
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mount_Kennedy
And JFK JR.'s famous Uncle Robert F. Kennedy, the brother of JFK, made the first ascent/climbed it with Jim Whittaker in 1965, before Robert was assassinated.
A movie has been made about this climb:

Return to Mount Kennedy - Trailer

Anyway, any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

We are talking about THE SON of JFK.
That would be JFK JR.
Robert F. Kennedy was JFK JR.'s famous uncle, who became a father figure after his father was assassinated. In a way very sadly, JFK JR. had 2 fathers assassinated. :_(

Jim Whittaker took RFK and RFK's family out on excursions (climbing?) and skiing after the famous ascent of Mount Kennedy before RFK's assassination.
So I am getting so very close. RFK took John-John skiing too. There are pictures of that. But climbing??? Not sure.
I'm thinking being as athletic as John-John is he would have tried climbing especially since his Uncle at least did some mountaineering and even happened to bag a first ascent.
That's pretty cool that RFK did that. He really was a 2nd father figure to John-John.

You should start your search with the college outing clubs of the northeast.
regardless of photographic proof, almost every crusty program had events that included top rope climbing.
I would suggest that the activity pointed out his dislike for activities that were hard, needed to be practiced in order to gain proficiency, took stamina and offered no valuable results. At least learning to fly a plane, gaining certifications & license, would allow him to take himself places.
climbing up things is hard and that family was notoriously not

I honestly would like to know if JFK JR. ever climbed.
I know his famous Uncle Robert F. Kennedy who was also his father figure for a short while after his father was assassinated climbed, having gone on an expedition to do the first ascent of Mount Kennedy, named after John-John’s father, President JF Kennedy.
Robert Kennedy climbed with the first American to summit Everest, the famous Jim Whittaker.
Robert Kennedy took and taught John-John skiing.
Also in the article link above in the thread, Jim Whittaker says that his friendship with the Kennedy’s continued even after the climb of Mount Kennedy and John-John got skiing lessons also from Jim Whittaker. The families would get together often. So John-John had ski lessons from the first American to ascend Mt. Everest. And he had his famous Uncle and second father figure Robert Kennedy having at least climbed in the remote St Elias Mountains having done a first ascent. That is all very close to what I’m talking about and also very cool indeed.
But did John-John himself ever try climbing? Did he ever rope-up? Did Jim Whittaker ever put him on a rope or even a top rope? Would be interesting to know.
Regarding JFK JR.’s flying ability ...
It is misinformation and very untruthful to say that JFK JR. was not a good pilot. The truth of the matter is that he was a very good, safe, and a meticulous pilot. All his instructors say so.
Read the book:
John Koerner, Exploding the Truth: The JFK, Jr. Assassination
https://www.amazon.com/Exploding-Truth-JFK-Jr-Assassination/dp/1785358847/ref=mp_s_a_1_10?crid=Y28A3IKNRODN&keywords=jfk+jr+books&qid=1556432465&s=gateway&sprefix=jfk+jr&sr=8-10
Listen to the interview with the author of the book, John Koerner. He talks about JFK JR. having made the exact flight he supposively crashed doing, having practiced the flight like 17 times IFR and a vision blocking hood and passing the exam with his instructor very successfully and very safely in the same plane.
The interview with author Professor John Koerner:
https://shows.pippa.io/5b7eee3536bf3f4166bc8c11/episodes/jfk-jr-assassination-john-koerner?autoplay=1
Like so many pilots John-John loved to fly. He got into flying powered parachutes/paraglider having owned a one-seater, and also a two seater. Flying gave him the peace and the privacy he desperately wanted and needed too. His wife really enjoyed going flying with him also.

It sure seems that JFK, RFK, and JFK JR. are surrounded by very well known climbers in their lives ...
Could JFK JR. have ever climbed? Maybe just even a little bit?
Someone has got to know.

Those of you who think JFK JR. wasn't a good pilot must certainly think that his last supposed flight was his fault, as told by the media and the NTSB.
However, the facts show otherwise. Read the above sources and listen to the interview with the author of the book -- Professor John Koerner.
It was an assassination, not a flying accident. He was purposefully killed in flight. The plane exploded by an altitude triggered bomb more than likely. Once you start to descend it goes off.
Now what if JFK JR. discovered through his secret service that he was to be assassinated by a discovered bomb that was planted on his aircraft before the event? Could JFK JR. and his wife, and his sister in law still be alive?
This is hardly yawn material. Lol. Books and movies will be written about this once the full truth is completely known. The world will be utterly amazed and woken-up all at once.
I could prove it to you but then it starts drifting into politics. And how dare we talk about that ...
Did JFK JR. ever climb? I wonder??? I bet he did and he has climbed or at least has tried it. Who knows maybe he has experienced it since July 16, 1999? I know he has done SUP since that time. And the evidence shows he still continues to fly.

Clearly, he was trying to fly his plane into the WTC, but missed. :-)
Back "on topic", I'm pretty sure Caroline has not done any significant rock climbing.
Actually none of this is relevant to climbing.
You might as well wonder if Jimmy Hoffa or Abe Lincoln climbed?

YO, YES HE LIKED TO ROCK CLIMB & HIRED "GUIDES"
WHAT A WEAK THREAD !
1ST CHECK THE BROWN OUTING CLUB,(Photos?)
THEN THINK ABOUT SOMEWHERE WHERE RICH & FAMOUS PLAY WITH ANONYMITY,
THEN ASK YOURSELF WAS THERE A SMALL ORIGINAL GUIDE WHO HAD THE IN AT THAT PLACE?
& REGULARLY GOT THE CALL TO SET TOP ROPES FOR VIPS,,,,(1984+85)
OR....
THEN IF YOU WERE AT ALL SERIOUS YOU COULD USE THE GOOGLE,(to find the passage below LIKE I DID!sukit"The fact is, if you compare him to a bunch of his cousins, John wasn't reckless at all," said Harrison Lee Rainie, author of "Growing Up Kennedy" and an editor at U.S. News & World Report. "He was less competitive, less spit-in-the-eye-of-the-devil. He liked rock-climbing and kayaking, but I don't think he bought into that whole Kennedy notion of tempting fate."
----------------------------------------------------
• In the end, it was JFK Jr.'s personality that sold copies of George.
He was a reckless adventurer.++! ~-thus his use of discreet "private instructors"
...with a love of the outdoors.
He paraglided, scuba dived,
and even tried to rappel down Mt. Rushmore before he was rebuffed by park officials.
It was his penchant for adventure that made his loved ones expect him to have survived the plane crash in 1999. I TRIED TO GIVE YOU THE HEADS UP NOW YOU CAN GO ABOUT IT IN YOU FAKE WAY.....

Yeah, we all behave when daddy is watching. Flight into known IFR conditions by a non-IFR
rated pilot is not only STOOPID it’s also illegal!

Well duh. What kind of pilot takes off with a bomb aboard? He’s as dumb as uncle Joe.
Professor John Koerner is very well on track with his book. He can very well prove that the evening of July 16th, 1999, with JFK JR., his wife, and sister-in-law did not happen as the media nor as the NSTB portrayed it -- a reck-less pilot and plane crash. That didn't happen.
JFK JR wasn't reckless. He was a very good and safe pilot. Listen to the interview. His instructors all said so. He had done the same flight 17 times, and even under IFR with a visual shield and passed very successfully with an instructor with his new plane. He had already accrued over 1000 hours of piloting flight in multiple aircraft.
Eye-witnesses saw the explosion of the aircraft on the evening of July 16, 1999.
But what Professor John Koerner doesn't know is that secret service protecting John had found an explosive device on John's plane. They told him "They" the Deep Cabal, were trying to assassinate him. He was saved and warned.
The counter plan was hatched. This evil wouldn't ever stop unless the Deep Cabal could be fooled into believing their assassination attempt to take out JFK JR. had actually worked.
John F. Kennedy JR, and his wife, and their children are still very much alive. I can prove it, but then we would be getting into politics, and apparently we can't talk about that kind of stuff here at ST.
I would love to be given the chance to prove it.
I think he will be VP and then onto becoming President of the USA. I love the fact that he is a very good man. He is very likeable, very brave, smart, has been fighting for our nation in a very big big way behind the scenes, and he is a man of outdoor adventure sports and is he willing to take some level of risk. Looks like he has done some climbing too! (Thanks Gnome). Also he is a man of deep faith and conviction. I admire all these traits and personal characteristics of JFK JR.
Things are turning around very positively for our nation now. B'H.
