All depends on your skill wielding it. Some hard stuff is being done with them.
I’d happily use them but then I’m happy with most tools. Used some 90s straight shafts the other day, no grip rests, I managed.
It’s the wizard not the wand.
I assume quality is fine, unlike the nomics checkered history.

I am Shure it climbs great. I just have PTSD from breaking BD picks with my old silver Vipers...

I actually think it is a pretty great axe for pure ice climbing. Haven’t tried it on mixed ground though.

Overall I would say that the offset ha dale is great and the swing is really nice. In the end it probably comes down to personal preference.

I have great luck and confidence in BD crampons and screws. I do not have confidence in their picks. I broke a Hummingbird pick in 1987 soloing a grade 4 pillar. then a long stretch of no worries. fast forward to about 2006 ish. Silver Vipers. broke a pick leading standard @ franks. Replaced it in the cave with partners spare. took to carrying a 3rd tool again. broke a pick soloing Standard. climbed out on thrd tool. Omega Pacific Venom. broke pick leading Float in full conditions. Finished 3rd pitch with the Venom. Broke pick leading Dracula. Down climbed and stole Isa's Machine. made her climb with the venom. At this point every swing I would look at my picks and see if they were still intact. 2009ish. Buy Quarks, ditch 3rd tool. No broken picks. 2014 buy cassin Xdreams with the super skinny picks. still no 3rd tool or broken picks....
