My favorite is no longer available. The old Rawl hand drill was great. I like the old style bits, unfluted with a chisel tip. They drill so much more efficiently than the new SDS fluted carbide tipped ones. They seem too flexy and you lose some of the impact force. Also I have had multiple carbide tips crumble. The one thing I don't like about the Rawl drill is how hard it is to get the bit out. The new drills have real chucks, Thats definately an improvement.

You're telling me! I have a bit that might as well be welded in.

If I can't take my Bosch Annihilator with me, I don't drill.

Rockpecker (but then I have never used others). Also busted a finger putting in one of my few bolts last year!

Roc Pec has the pinky pinch phenomena, which I think can be handled by placing some climbing tape over the slider on the collette (sp?).

The rubber handle protective lip near the head of the drill holder is smaller than the pika, and I macked my thumb several times. Which is not to say I didn't have issue with Pika and missing a couple of strokes.

Rawl/Fish set ups, just suked because of the drift key welding into the holder and the holder itself have soft metal so that it mushroomed relatively fast.

The SDS bits are LONG, which sux for starting a hole. Tips you back. That's where the Rawl fish excelled, you could but a cut off bit in there to get a hole started, then switch to another drill holder and bit to finish the depth.

Pika, But I have one of the drills from pre98 which means that the bit comes loose after a few turns and you have to tighten it a pain when you are starting your hole.

Ever used a Bosch, Im looking for an affordable one. Snake Dike clip up here I come.......
