Kinda just looking for something that will keep my phone charged for a full day until i get home, back to car, boat, or hotel room.
I use my phone as a camera.

You'll pay more per mAh at REI for sure.
I just posted the REI page as it is pretty comprehensive as far as what's out there. They are certainly not my first choice to buy from.

Yep, thanks.
The nice thing about REI is you get a dividend, and you can return pretty much anything.

Ended up getting a REI MasterCard. I don't shop there much, but get 1% dividend for using it for any purchase and 5% if used for buying at REI.

I'm definitely a fan of the Anker units. They hold their charge really well and seem to live up to their power ratings.

I have an Iogear 11,000mah purchased a few years back. The technology has improved a lot since then but this unit has worked great for me. I recently took it to Denali where it kept my iPhone 6, Garmin Fenix 3 watch, 2 GoPro batteries and a Garmin inReach fully charged with no problems. (I brought along a 21w Anker solar charger to keep the Iogear charged as needed.) How much storage you need obviously depends on how quickly you drain the battery on your phone and how long you want it in continuous use.
Tip: don't charge your phone past 80% out in the field. Charging to 80% goes pretty fast but slows down considerably after that and actually takes more "juice" from the battery charger to reach 100%; beyond 80% the phone's battery can begin to seriously heat up shortening the life of your phone's battery (causing you to have to charge it even more frequently) and putting extra strain on the charger to reach that 100%.
Cheers,
Thom
