Hey guys,

Planning on TM Triple tomorrow, was looking for some info on water sources along the in-betweens?

Thanks in advance.

If you are talking Tenaya/Matthes/Cathedral, there should be a stream flowing through the meadow in front of the Echoes. I camped in that meadow when I did Matthes about 10 years back, and at night we couldn't find our tent! We wandered back and forth, and I found it by recognizing the different sound of the stream at the place where I had earlier filled up water in the vicinity of our tent. My wife teases me and says I'm making it up (even though she was there), but it's true. Something like this:

Beware of the pack animals in the vicinity though- filter/purify it! Probably other sources too. For example, here is west of Matthes (downstream, fed probably by same source as above):

And a little different perspective to help narrow down the location:

Pay it forward with some photos when you get back!

I somehow managed to never climb Cathedral Peak though I have been at the base or marched by it 3 times: trip to Matthes; an aborted car-to-car attempt of Cathedral starting shortly before sunset on a crazy windy day; and an aborted linkup of Tenaya/Matthes/Cathedral when a migraine headache invaded our party on Matthes.

Did it last week. There was water every couple of miles, it's not complicated. Never carried more than half a liter...

There's plenty of water there. Like posted above, anything more than 1/2 liter is overkill and added weight. Do some of the Echoes on your way by. They quickly add more to the "Triple" and are pretty fun. Except for Echo 9. That things a bastard. lol

twenty something hours C2C, team of three (i wasnt expecting a third but oh well).

water is everywhere, and there were even a few streams running betweem mathes and cathedral so we didnt have to detour to bud lake... but those streams are very skimpy so dont expect them to hang around.

it was a lot bigger than we expected, and moving in a team of three sucked balls. but doable, beautiful, and just challenging enough.

a much needed "vacation adventure" after last week's epic on YPB!
