Putting up new routes in the wilderness. Hopefully someday someone will repeat them. Hell, if no one else does, Loomis will.

"Anyone else getting out on rock this weekend?"
Trying to start a new Friday tradition, I left work at 1pm and climbed till the sun went down. Very fun and started the weekend off right!

It's by Whitehall/Cardwell on Highway 2. Near the Lewis and Clark Caverns.
It's an old (limestone) quarry. That whole thing was blasted out, and it's huge! It would host some crazy climbs too.
All 'manufatuced' since the cave used to be a hillside, what's the ethics with that?
We wondered around and looked at logistics...I'm still rather stunned.

Nice shot. Good to see/hear people getting out.
Yeah I'm not sure if I want to step into the realm of actually developing/climbing this cave...but it's huge. Everytime I drive that road I stare over at it. I had to go see what it was about.

Tkingsbury, that's an impressive looking cave! How is the stone in the cave? From the picture you posted, it seems to be featured...can't really tell though. Some years ago I look for routes in the area, but somehow obviously missed the huge, gaping hole in the side of the cliff. Seemed like I recall lots of the rock in the area is chossy. Could be, and hopefully am, wrong.
