I've been on turmeric for a couple months now and I love the stuff. Dropped the chondritin supplements and I don't need to lube up the knees for approaches with drugs any longer. Woot! Thanks!

Blinny - Will tumeric help bones heal faster? (as in neck bones). What else make bones heal mo' better?

Yes - tons of spinach like Popeye eats!
Calcium pills, silica, vitamins, proteins (organic chicken and fish), biotin, pop tarts,...everything good.

JB,
I spent 2 years trying to get my Tib/Fib to heal and took all kinds of supplements. It wasn't 'till 18 months into it that I learned of the evils of caffeine. Basically, it blocks your body's ability to absorb calcium.
Bummer...

I got alot of that stuff (turmeric, NOT estrogen).
I use it in my sweet-pickles.

Maldaly - yes I don't do coffee, smokes, beer (maybe some!) - no pop tarts either!
Ever try that electrical bone stimulation stuff? Makes your bones grow faster...

JB,
Slept with one of those things on my ankle for 6 months and all I got was insomnia. Beer is good...it's a vaso-dialator.
Hope things are good with you. See you in SLC? If so, I'll buy the vaso-dialators.

Do you become mustard-colored if you mainline the turmeric?

Poor choice of words. But what is the therapeutic dosage? What if I eat a cup at a time?

Anyone tried Phenocane?
It has tumeric, boswellian, and a few other things. It is kind of expenisive. 22 dollars for 60 caps. it was highly recommended to me but I think I am going to just try the tumeric. Puritan's pride has buy one get one free or buy two get three free. Good until end of Feb.
Phenocane site, has some good info on how turmeric works.

How do you take the stuff, by the spoonful?

Maldaly - good to know. How about the ultra sound devices? Still not as good as beer?
I believe you.
Ron - I don't know if I need the electrical stimulator yet. I hope not. If I'm getting a non-fusion, I'll try anything before I go for another surgery. I'll even try beer with Malcolm if he says it works! Maybe Tumeric beer?

Hey LEB, sorry about your beast and Lyme disease. That's unfortunate. My own little creature is just riddled with ticks after a jaunt in the backcountry here on Sunday, but this area isn't very "Lymey". She just cost me a whole heap of money thanks to her getting trampled by a German Shepherd and breaking two teeth off at the base.
This is probably the most useful link for your questions and it basically sums up any other links I could give you: http://www.intelihealth.com/IH/ihtIH/WSIHW000/8513/31402/348510.html?d=dmtContent
And, I will say, it says it helps with menstrual cramps? It very well might. It's been a pain free cycle, babY! (TMI for the poor menfolk.)
Hey Ron, you wanna see Yuck? Try the Michelob Vanilla beer in a vibrator-shaped bottle!
