I see.
Are there non-university professors?
Can a man be a nurse practitioner? Can a nurse practitioner be sued like a doctor?

Is a high school teacher the same thing as a professor? If they are different, what is different about the requirements for each?
How can I become a nurse practitioner?

Well, to be honest, I would never become a nurse practitioner. In fact, I think you are kind of crazy for doing it. But I think you are a very interesting person to talk to.
So.
Can a middle school or elementary school teacher be a professor?
What are the requirements for becoming a nurse practitioner?

Nurse practitioners are great. More or less the equivalent of a Physician's Assistant. We need thousands more of them.

As for myself, I am just another climber. I have a bachelor's degree in psychology, and have absolutely no interest in pursuing a career in teaching or nursing. But I think you people are fascinating!
So, could a professor be a pre-K or special ed teacher?
Is a nurse practitioner in charge of other nurses?

I believe a Truckee is one who has been transported somewhere by Truck.
If that is the name of a town, I cannot claim to have ever been there. Sounds really nice though.
Can you explain the concept of tenure? Are you a tenured professor? Is there a retirement?
What is the the difference between a Nurse Practitioner, a Registered Nurse, and a Nurse Manager? Please go into detail as to the educational requirements and the differences in responsibility for each.
In which state do you live?

I think this is a good conversation and it's nice to hear Lois talk about those things she's experienced in. I hope nobody brings noise into this excellant exchange.
Thanks Lois and Turd, Carry on. I have a High School teaching cert but the High School kids don't seem to like learning (exceptions of course) and I thought that if I got an advanced degree that teaching kids who had to PAY to learn would be more rewarding.
I'm still finding the dirtbag life is suiting me better but I respect nurses and teacher more than stock brokers and money movers.
Peace
Karl

I am certain. I am trying to make a point, but that doesn't include lying.
Have you ever been a nurse manager?

I, along with several million others have used a signal mirror while in the military. My dad used a signal mirror while in the military. Karl has probably used a signal mirror.
Do you have a different question?
While you were a nurse manager, did you perform RN duties? Please explain how this is handled administratively.

I have an old friend who is a nurse prac. She's got a publishing business connected with nursing and it's doing really well. You might be interested in some of her stuff for some patients Lois.

edit: I have a signal mirror in one of my first aid kits but I've never used it. Nursing is a good profession for climbers since it demands a cool head and can have a very flexible schedule. Don't let me distract you from outlining the stages of nursing practice and how some of us could go about doing it, Lois. More folks will be able to refer to it when choosing their profession.

Yes, USAF. Never been to Truckee though. Ever. Where is it?
How much can you get away with as a tenured professor?
What is the worst nursing job you can have?

I wasn't a SAR guy so much as a CBPO guy.
Are nurses subject to the same long shifts as doctors? Have you ever given anyone the wrong injection because you'd been up for 36 hours?

Consolidated base personnel office.
You say you could not do now what you could at age 30. How old are you now?
Could you be a professor at age 30? Is there an age requirement to be a Nurse Practitioner?
