I always wondered when someone would make something like this-- a crampon that attaches to a ski-boot via the ski boot's tech fittings. Current home-made iteration looks like it has as bit too many small parts that could be damaged by rock, but I still think that the idea is smart.

They work super well! Thought I'd have trouble without rear points, but once one is aware they are not there, the crampons seem fine.

edit - the one downside of this design is they don't hold on Billy Goat Plates, which require traditional style crampons for retention.

Incredibly cool.
Another and more versatile alternative: Colin Haley recently climbed the Infinite Spur on Sultana (Foraker), solo, in a day, using these. They don't attach directly to AT hardpoints, but at 540g/pr., it seems they'd do nicely enough.
