Saw a friend's post on FB from Multnommah Falls (East of Portland) today, and wondered if anyone knew whether it'd ever been climbed. It's obviously not in condition right now, but it looks like it'd be pretty stellar if it got cold enough for long enough.

If it ever gets cold enough to freeze solid it most certainly would be climbed unless it under armed guard.. it's just water ice. those guys can climb anything that freezes solid.

I've got a couple of 3mm wetsuits I use for kayaking. Maybe...

ice climbing is not allowed at multnomah falls.

however the columbia river gorge is a world class ice climbing venue, for a day or two every few years...been a good year this year for OR ice!

check out climbs like the "black dagger" or "ainsworth left"

Haven't heard of anyone climbing it, but on a side note, I believe my great grandfather built that bridge. There is a plaque on the far side with his name, crediting him for the construction.

That's pretty awesome, Eric!

And I'd love to hear/see more about climbing in the CR Gorge.
