Local Joshua Tree guide Bob has been diagnosed with cancer, and needs to have an MRI. So my friend Sara Susca set up a gofundme account, the URL is below.

I drove down to see Robert last week. Had a good chat as always and he is staying positive, but he is facing some serious issues here.
I know that seems like the understatement of the year, but the big issue beyond the diagnosis is that Medical is dragging their feet as always, and it pisses me off to no end that people that need help FAST just get blown off.
Robert's been my bud for a long time, and I know that he was pretty adamant about no fundraisers. Well, tough luck pal - you have a lot of friends and we are all going to do what we can to get you well again. You've given more than enough good karma to have some swing back your way.

$3565.00 has been raised so far on Go Fund Me on FaceBook. Awesome! The goal is 11,000. Robert needs 10,000 but Go fund takes a cut. I challenge you all to send a few bucks to the fund.
Think of it this way:
+ Todd doesn't need to throw an expensive party
+ You save gas for your vehicle and time....even tho we'd rather have a fundraiser party.
+Dude, Robert, has been the man for many of us....and a friend.
+All of us can chip in a little to save a life. Right?

Robert truly is the curmudgeon with a heart of gold. Some of my best JTree memories are time spent on the ranch. Gotta get this man his MRI. Otherwise who will shoot at the trespassers? :)
