Hi,
I'm flying to San Diego from the UK on thursday.
Does anyone know where I can pick up bouldering guide books for joshua tree and Bishop in San Diego?
or any shops that my sell them local to the climbing spots?
Thanks,
Pete

The local climbing shops in both areas would be best.
REI has purged their climbing library for some reason.
I'd hope you're going to hit Woodson- Hundreds of miniature (10-30 ft.) Yosemite style cracks!
go to: climbingtoposofsandiego
You could go to a couple of Woodson threads, here on Super Topo- you will see some great photos of the rocks and our dirty laundry!

Mesa Rim sells some guidebooks. I'd give them a call, they have two locations. I'm relatively positive they sell the Bishop guidebook, and at least one guide to J-Tree but it might be more geared toward roped climbing.

Kevin, are you still in SD? Chappy told that you had moved to El Centro so that you could spend more time at the Salton Sea.

There is a Nomad Ventures in Escondido and Joshua Tree that sell a fair amount of guidebooks.
Escondido phone 760-747-8223
Joshua Tree phone 760-366-4684
Have a great visit here, Pete! Cheers, lynnie

Thanks for all help! I fly out tomorrow and I'm really looking forward to it.
JT and Bishop seem to have come up as the best places to visit. However, Woodson is new to me so I will do a bit of research on it - sounds like something quite unique!
