Philo! Thank you.
My first time in France, 1995, I was amazed to see a group of French military in camo walk carefully through the main northern railroad station for Paris, looking around, and carrying automatic weapons in ready position.
We need to appreciate that France fought a dirty war with Algerian terrorists from the early 1950's through the early 1960's. That war extended into France, and it appears terrorist acts have continued in France since then.
We enjoyed a great three week visit to France this September and I continued to see a well armed & ready French police force.
I think the French are ready to handle whatever the terrorists can stage.
Best Wishes to the French.

We stand with you France, and our prayers go out to the families who lost loved ones. What a terrible terrible thing, this terrorism. May we find a way to put an end to it soon and all learn to live together in Peace.

Thanks for yours sympathies. We had the same for you on 9 11. Today it 's a terrific moment in France, everybody is deeply shocked. Even i my small city.
We knew already the risk and the reason, the france foreign policy in mid east on one side, the to large number of muslim in france having no capability to accept our local secular and leberal culture on the other side.
We have to face very large issues, it will be long and painfull and we should loss a part of us in this war

I express my deepest condolences for those who lost their lives, and to their grieving families. This will not end well for either side in the conflict that has only just begun. All Europe is a powder keg waiting to burst into violence from massive Islamic immigration. As Fritz has pointed out, France already had a "special relationship" with the North African Islamic Militants in the '50's and '60's.
