sleep in?
start packing the truck?
plan the logistics?
make a perfunctory attempt at looking for a job?
take a class?
feel free to describe based on whether it is morning, noon or night.
e.g. pour a couple fingers of Scotch to contemplate

Donate all assets to Scientology (not really) and embrace the full power that is inside me (definitely).
Accept that true happiness does not even require a cardboard box for a roof.
When water falls from the sky, look up and laugh with joy.
When water does not fall from the sky, look up and laugh with joy.

Relax. I quit my job of nearly twenty years in February. I'm still relaxing. It can take a while to get your true normal on.

hey there say, all...
wow, i'd think you need to 'rechange' yourself as to spiritually feeling strong... and have some time alone resorting what you have left, and setting up a new outline, to follow... and then, go for it... step by step...

I've done it twice. I took off, nearly immediately, for parts unknown. I'm 66 now and with hindsight, I can say, both were the best things I ever did.

I'm able to retire from my construction gig at 55 this year,I don't have many bills and don't own a lot of things so I'm thinking hike the PCT and go from there. I am interested in a mountain town with a College and maybe earn a degree .And Ski and Climb and fish.

Since when do you get to go onto unemployment when you quit? Fired, yes. Quit, no.
Gotta take that into consideration.

Does selling your house, packing all of your belongings into a single 8'x8'x16' storage pod, and then striking off cross country with wife, travel trailer, and two corgis, leaving your home of 50 years with no place to go, just a dream that has taken way too long to come to fruition, count as quitting?
I'm so glad I quit. If you are not moving forward, the Earth considers you food.

Looking at quitting my job this winter. Try to ski almost every day and when the season is done, head out on a bike tour.
