Never been there at that time, but I've been told it stays full until about late Oct. Is that right?

Thread hijack:

I used to think camp4 was a zoo... I am presently in Carpinteria Beach state park(family reunion) and the place looks more like a refugee camp than a campground. Oh the urbanity! I truly cannot hear my kids in the same tent as me when we 're laying down (sleeping head to toe) because the ambient car traffic is so loud! It's like if you put a tent on the porch of the Iron Door saloon in Groveland during a busy weekend evening.

At least the people are quiet, no blaring boom boxes or generators ( but it is quiet hours after all). Who cares it ain't nature- just a spot for family to congregate, including those who need flushy toilets and daily showers. The irony is I feel so much dirtier using these bathrooms than I do when digging a hole in an isolated spot. This place is a germ factory!

But- I should get in lots of surfing with my kids and my cousins and their kids, and sing lots of campfire songs for the rest of the week :)

Breaking News;

Tyrolean traverse between Middle Cathedral and The Captain goes wrong and topples monoliths over into each other, closing off Valley to tourists. Massive airlift evacuates the Valley and climbers vacate Camp IV in pursuit of more luxuriant digs.

Buzz Lightyear reaches infinity, gets buzz job, and departs for beyond...

Thread drift but Bushman's post reminded me of the Disney movie Planes 2. I guess you'd only see it if you had kids since it's a sequel to a 2nd tier film but it was actually pretty good as far as kids fare goes, but more importantly it was SO set in Yosemite. The Ahwahnee, Yosemite Falls, Hetch Hetchy. And the fire trapping the tourists was like Bushman's spire collapse.
