When in doubt. call 209-372-0200, wait, press one and then choose between weather and roads.

It closes according to weather but generally in November sometime

for some more specific information....it did close for a while on Friday, or maybe Thursday. But it opened back up on Saturday morning. In general a storm will only close the road temporarily until Oct. 15, at which point any significant snowfall should close it until next spring.

It was/is open...
it will close when snow comes and stays... right now it is warm enough for the sun to clear the roads.. but snow from last week was sticking in the shady spots all around.

With some luck we'll have TM open a bit longer. Chilly winds and all. Almost no one around on Sunday, great sun, but windy (not bad). We were on Fairview TRing a bunch of routes, Malitosis, Get Slick some 10c in between... we did Dixie Peach and traversed over to the anchors (thanks Roger! the new bolts are awesome!).

We were at the base of S.Crack at 10am and it was another hour or so before anyone else showed up at the crag...

George and Gary at the base of Stately Pleasure Dome getting their kit together to hike up to the South Crack belay ledge for a day of cragging in Tuolumne Meadows...
...just a little running water.

Gary going around the corner on Malletosis 5.10a after the first bolt.
this is a runout route put up by Schmauss and Michael Strassman in 1986.

George also making the move...

Ed Hartouni moving up on Climbing Club 5.10c (not 5.10a as set in the book as the first moves are shared with Sweet Nothings, and those are 5.10c).
Gary is belaying above.

Nice climbs all...

Hey Ed, let me know if you want that tuning fork (my email is acting up, won't send a reply to your email). I should be up in TM end of the week through next week (weather dependent...). No partners lined up if you want rebolting help on your replacement project. Greg

OK Greg! if the weather is looking good I'll get in touch with you around Thursday or so about the project.
