Here's an update from my end as of June 18th.
We are planning on City of Rocks, nights of Sunday June 21 - Thursday June 25, checkout Friday June 26. We have the same camp spot as last year, at Twin Sisters, reserved (Twin Sisters Group Camp).
Our campground is somewhat short on level tent spots, but has lots of parking, a Deluxe shitter, 2 picnic tables, & a nice firepit.
No cellphone or internet access, & no water, except what we bring in, & no garbage service.
Camping expenses. I won’t know exactly until I get a final head count by night, but I will be asking for about $17.50 per camper for 5 nights, or $3.50 per night.
We have attendees sponsoring dinners, with others adding on H'ordeuvres & fine beverages before, or with the meal. Donations are accepted to help defray expenses.
Currently we are thinking:
1. Pat's turkey chili, green salad, bread Sunday night Sponsored by Jim, Angela, Jack & Pat.
2. Riblet & salads, bread. Fritz, Heidi & helpers
3. Spaghetti, green salad, bread & likely grilled Italian sausage. Mark & helpers.
4. Wayno & Masha & helpers gourmet meal Carne Asada
5. Taco & Tamale night, Fritz, Heidi & helpers.
Firewood! Last year we had too much firewood. Heidi & I will bring a bunch of our “free” wood & 11worth has committed to bringing some wood too. Please don’t spend your hard-earned money on firewood----------instead----spend it on fine wines, beer, & great H’ordeuvres to share.
We'd love to see you again? Let me know your thoughts?
Notes:
1. The no small children & no pets policy worked so well, we are doing that again too.
2. If you plan on attending, post here if you want your name on ST as an attendee, or contact me, if you would like to be anonymous?
3. Campsite costs will be shared and donations accepted for food & all campers are expected to help with the work load.
4. We do welcome diversity & young & fun climbers!
Namaste,
Fritz

There are likely nearby campsites available, but you need to get off your ass and reserve them in advance.
Here is a link: http://www.reserveamerica.com/ Look for City of Rocks National Reserve, Idaho. As of 5/10 there are zero out of 47 campspots left at City of Rocks for nights of June 21-25.
The same search also show Castle Rocks State Park with 8 sites available.
Their Smoky Mountain camp offers deluxe camping with showers, cell & internet connectivity at reasonable prices. On the map of Smoky Mt. camp, the blue sites are still available. Of those available, #2 would be best for tent camping & 27 - 28 are not at all suitable for tent camping & lack shade.
Looking forward to it folks. I can't hardly restrain myself.

As you already know, I'LL BE THERE! I may fly in and stay in town (Almo) at the motel so that others can fight over the camping sites. I might elect to stay in the big campground complete with Internet and hot showers if I decide to drive out. Flying limits my weight severely, but the time saved is worth that disadvantage.

Reveille (yes i have a bugle) will be at 6:00 am sharp followed by cam inspection, climbing assignments and a Power Bar breakfast. Gri gris, belay gloves, cordelettes and Go Pros will need to be checked at the door. Other than that, let's just relax and have fun!

Masha and I are going to try and make it. I don't think Boris will be around that long. If we go, we will be good for one of the meals. As Fritz knows, I am no longer a chef due to major job burnout but I do still enjoy cooking for people. Hopefully, my feet will be fine and I can hike and climb. I don't remember what it is called but that large crag across the valley as you enter the park looks like something I would at least want to hike out to if not actually climb. Looking forward to some good times.

Welcome to Mark & Kathie Force.
Twin Sisters Group camp is now maxed out, but all are welcome to camp elsewhere and visit for our frivolity. There may be cancellations in group camp, closer to the party date.
Please see links to other available campsites in my first post.

I wasn't sure what the camping situation was so I reserved one of those camp sites you mentioned up thread. So there should be plenty of "over flow" room. They seem to be fussy about car restrictions saying only one to a campsite.
I'll pick up anyone ALONG THE WAY. I'm NOT doing a Canadian detour. Sorry. That is likely to be Santa Cruz to Idaho. Could be Moab to Idaho...Won't know for sure which route (root) until later spring.

Susan: Re your mention of one car to a campsite. I just called COR & the current rules are: Maximum of 8 people, 2 tents, 2 vehicles for $12.72 a night + a $10.60 reservation fee in their regular campsites.
Smoky Mountain camp with showers, cell phone, internet is a $10.60 reservation fee & $22.00 to $27.00 a night.
Extra cars are not a factor in the Twin Sisters Group Camp. There the fee is a $26.50 reservation fee and $3.18 per person per night. Roughly speaking, with 30 people for 5 nights = $3.50 per person per night.
Steve! That would be great. Can you use your influence to get Jeff Lowe & Connie to attend & give a showing of Metanoia too? We'll pay for a motel room in Almo for them. They almost attended, back when Jeff was still living in Ogden.
