Hola!

Work is taking me to S.Korea (Seoul Area). Anyone been there, recommendations? I will have a affiliate funded "cultural" tour from my sponsor company, so I have the standard issue covered aka I hope my liver is ready. Starting Vitamin C loading now!

What are some of the off the beaten path stuff that you would recommend?

Not off topic at all take shoes! And Chalk !! and buy a harness, when you get there, to get the beta from the shop.
Call Rock & Snow , the climbing store in the Gunks and leave a message for Russ Clune.
He can also be reached through Alpine ascents,(?) Marty's guide service.(W/who to see SkyTop)
Russ is known as the father of Korean climbing! He is a 1% er, lucky guy! but not a bad guy to any extent, and he will stear you right!

I had spelled that word stear, steer but no bull, from me any way.

Ever need a suit? Take a $100 bill and get a hand crafted whatever brand you want.

Not off the beaten path but I rather enjoyed a trip to the demilitarized zone. There is a modern train station there ready to go with the next stop north listed as Pyongyang.

And you won't even have to leave the middle of the city to do your climbing. Er... rapeling.

It's been 20 years and I mostly remember the standard stuff near Seoul. The history stuff was interesting and how they created their own unique written language so recently is wild.

I first had Korean BBQ in LA just before I went there and it was instantly one of my favorite foods. So I really enjoyed the food, cheap and good at small, locals restaurants. It still hard to find around NorCal without going to expensive places. In Hawaii you can get it as yummy, healthy fast food.

The Koreans told me all people were good. Except Japanese who they thought were horrible.

Rock it Gangam style.
