The ability to conduct any kind of meaningful exchange here is over. Even a heavy application of greasemonkey ain't cutting it.

I have no issues with nasty arguing, political diatribe, even rockjox style incoherent rants...when they are confined to threads with that obvious intention. Climate skeptics, political titled, etc..know what to expect, engage knowing that it will be a shitshow.

But when that bleeds into virtually every topic, when the grown ass men with an intellect of an ADHD 6 year old run riot in every thread, when whiners with no affiliation with climbing (oh, sorry, they hiked up the backside of a peak once) are allowed to dictate what is acceptable on this forum, when drive-by-trolls are allowed to remain....yeah, you can have it.

I don't "do" facebook, so all you that send friend requests to the account linked to my ST mail...it's not you, it's me...I don't use the account, only as a login to view videos or something requiring a FB login. There are literally no friends on there, so don't be offended.

Met a lot of cool people here, climbed a lot of fun stuff with people from here, and read many many tales of adventure that made me psyched to get out there. But frankly, the 10yr olds on my youth team show a greater level of maturity and intellect.

Get your "save the drama", "you'll be back" barbs in now. I may be back, and won't be deleting the account because I wrote TRs partly to get other people pysched to climb some classic routes that I really enjoyed and have no desire to erase that content. But there won't be anymore.

Thanks to all the "experienced" (I don't want to call you old! lol) folks that have shared a lot of hard earned wisdom and history...I'd name them, but I'd miss someone.

Hankster was right, this shithole ain't worth my time or effort. See ya.

It's not just here, it's online forums in general. Go climb something and be happy.

How come you old men take the internet so serious?

I had no idea just how many hours per day and how much emotional investment some of you pour into this site on the daily...lol

Sometimes I wonder if people were busier at work (or had jobs), maybe they wouldn't spend so much time arguing about nonsense on forums. It's so time consuming.
But even people with jobs get all caught up and carried away in the BS, so who knows.

Too bad.
At least post more pics of your muscles before you go!

You can take your avatar and...

and I'm kidding.

I know you are not kidding and it's not funny to see a stand-up guy leave because of a few fercockta shiteheels. (It's more than a few, but I won't name names either as it's pointless.)

Whyzit the ten, no, make it five percenters...

Whyzit they always seem to win by default?

Go in peace, bro.

Nice to know in advance about your leave of absence; it's nice to hear you say goodbye, and to hear you say you might visit now and again.

But this is a bit off:

Hankster was right, this shithole ain't worth my time or effort.

That's insulting to a bunch of folks who are here, like you have been, to put some positive energy into the forum. And it ain't no shithole.

Like most organic systems, the Taco has its ebbs and flows. I remember being a 49er fan when they couldn't win a Cereal Bowl. But they came around, then they flopped again. It's part of the action--part of being in a family through thick, through thin.

We know that some of the children here will either grow up or they'll ship off. Then a new batch will arrive, green behind the ears. Every village has its idiots, but it also has its elders.

Have a nice vacation, but don't slam the door on your way out for your break.

Cheers,
:- Kelly

Too bad, I always liked your football intellect. Even if you are a Spurs fan;-)
Have a good one, hopefully you will still stop in on the soccer thread every now and then.

You've been one of my favorite posters in recent years, as I've often found myself nodding my head in agreement with much of what you write, and been impressed with your thoughtfulness and sincerity. Have fun out there.

Sorry to hear this. It happens too often.

It's enough to make you wanna barf sometimes, the way we behave.

But I also agree with k-man, it's still a great site for the goods, when they come around.

Come back after your break. The chief will still be here lecturing everybody, Werner will still be calling everyone stoopid, and Burch3y will be here with his 20th avatar talking down to people.
