Hello all, quite a long time ago while climbing the aid line on Rixon's Pinnacle I cleaned this old piece of gear, a unique design I'm unfamilar with, maybe an early lowball? I would be happy to return this piece of gear to the owner or if there's no owner to be found maybe someone could suggest an appropriate climbing museum.

thanks,

kr

What ya got there is an original Metolious Slider Nut. Super heavy, awkward to place, and nigh impossible to clean if weighted. Neat idea though.

You've got a piece of history there. That is the design that got Doug Phillips started with Metolius.

I used to carry the smallest Blue Slider back when protection options under 1/2" weren't so good.

I never bought any of the larger sizes.

Consider donating it to the North American Climbing History Archives (NACHA) and I can offer you a fair tax deduction in exchange.

Steve, I'd be happy to send it to you.
Is there a particular address you would like it shipped to?
