Questions from the audience hosted by Jerry Seinfeld.

The real Sarah Palin stands up and asks:

How much would Lorne & SNL pay me if I run for President in 2016?

Seinfeld laughs and says---"No figure is too high."

Sarah says:
And how much if Donald Trump is my running mate?

"Sarah, your just teasing us!" replied Seinfeld.

This reminds me of the days when my parents had first split up. I was about 13 at the time. We lived in a small country New England town at the time in this giant old dilapidated victorian house (though technically I think it was Queen Anne architecture). We had a giant back yard and the whole lot was about a 1/5 acre (at least it felt giant to the kid that was me).

My Mom, in her infinite wisdom, rented an apartment in the house on the opposite side of the block directly behind our house. So my brothers and I could just walk over to visit. I was staying over one Saturday night and I think she must have gone to bed. I slept on a fold out sofa and was really thrilled to stay up so late and watch TV. I was flipping channels (well, figuratively... I'm sure there was no remote and we probably had about 8 channels!).

I stumbled across this program that seemed so out there and edgy. It was Saturday Night Live. I know it was one of the earliest episodes and I vividly remember ABBA playing SOS and the producers tilting the cameras so the band appeared like it was on a ship was sinking (yeah–really goofy, but why not?). I looked this up and it's episode number 5. I watched SNL a lot in those days, but have seen it in decades at this point.

Amazing that it's been around for forty years!

I've been a fan since the first year (my last year in high school).

During the last couple weeks I've been watching a bunch of the SNL marathon (400+ hours)(way too much) and the memories have been flooding back.

There were periods of years where I missed it, I didn't know till now that Randy Quaid, Julia Louise Dreyfuss, Anthony Michael Hall and others were cast members.

The 40 year special was nice. It was good to see even Kanye West has a sense of humor, I don't care for his music though.

What a great show, human, timely, flawed and perfect in every way.
