Boulder police are investigating two men who reportedly climbed a 200-foot crane in downtown Boulder early Saturday and parachuted down to the street intersection below.
Two officers were on patrol in the area of 11th and Pearl Streets at 2 a.m. Saturday when a man ran up to them and told them someone had fallen and needed help, according to Boulder police spokeswoman Kim Kobel.
When the officers got out of their car, they found an injured man lying in the road wearing a parachute.
About 150 witnesses leaving bars in the area at the time said they saw two men jump off a crane in the area and parachute an estimated 200 feet down to the ground. The person who was not injured initially fled the scene but later returned, Kobel said.
The injured man was taken to the hospital to be treated for his injuries.
Kobel said police are working with the Boulder District Attorney's Office to determine if charges are appropriate in the case. Kobel said investigators believed the men would have had to scale a fence and pass "no trespassing" signs to get to the crane.

Prolly be a waste of taxpayer money to arrest them. Seems like a victimless crime. Unless they sue the owner of the crane for making it accessible. Landing must've been a real shock to the senses.

"Officer, I swear. I was just leaving the bar and these hooligans ambushed me and beat me up and put this parachute on me."
